I've seen GSP a couple of times.

The second match with Serra was very good. He was very impressive.

Koscheck is still a contender, but his KO loss vs Paulo Thiago set him back. He is the second best wrestler at 170, but he is in love with his striking, since he has very fast hand and knock out power, but his technic is lacking..

Pride was a Japanese organisation that was bought up buy the UFC a couple of years back. Pride was crazier in a number of ways, as you could probably tell from the video, Pride didn't have an upper weight limit, so sometimes fighters would have to fight freaks and giants. I don't know of any specific differences in rules, but I'd say that my general impression was that Pride was a lot more violent and that fights were allowed to go on for a lot longer after one fighter had gone down.

Cheers QW, just had a quick look but will definitely check that site in more depth later. Looks great.

Glad to hear Kocheck is still doing well.

    Thanx Weber.

Do you know whether there is any relevance in having the ropes instead of the cage? I have watched enough UFC to see that guys who are pinned down against the cage are usually advised to climb up the cage to a standing position.

I don't think that there's that much of a difference, but if had to pick one over the other, I'd go with the ropes. The cage gives the aggressor an unfair advantage, as it's harder to put any force into your punches when you're up against the wall. The ropes give a level playground in that regard.
