It definetly works sometimes, I thought Shane's all black trunks for the Margarito fight really suited the situation. It wasn't flashy, it was intimidating and brutal. Also Mike wore the short shorts so it flashed those tree trunk legs he used to generate the power to kill you.
My favourite trunks are barrera's, can't remember him ever wearing any crap, recently it has to be Cotto's when he fought Michael jenning, the worst has to be, DeMarcus Corley's, unsure which fight though This content is protected
Somebody should market replica boxers trunks as shorts, like they do with football tops and all that stuff. I like a lot of the ones Pacquiao has like the red flame ones and the white trunks he wore in the Hatton fight. I think the blue ones Gatti is wearing in my avatar are kickass as well.

I'd say Larry Holmes had some awesome trunks back in the day (specifically when he fought Earnie Shavers the second time around). Holmes' Red/white. Kronk Gym fighters also have the glorious yellow/red. George Foreman's red/blue trunks when he lost to Ali, and beat Michael Moorer. I can't really think of any more.
