    Hector Camacho is the greatest talent I have ever seen wasted in a boxing ring. He was so skilled and incredible that inspite of drug use lackadasical training and no real guidance he was able to accomplish what he did in a ring.

    The saddest part is to think of what might have been.

    he was a very good fighter that was never stopped , but , i saw his fight with JCC and ask : what excuse did he have there ? same size , same age , same experience.
    against bigger stronger opponents he was better than JCC , because he ran better and less tried to fight , but , against Greg Haugen JCC was much more impressing. in fact , pazienza achieved more against him. no disrespect for pazienza , on the contrary.

    He would have always been underpowered as he moved up in weight. Great talent, but how many great fighters lacked discipline? Thats what separates them.

    I used to think he was so greatand underachieved but looking back at his fights he never would have been great above 130. Helacked the power and diversity. Chavez beat the crap out of him and exposed a lot. Camacho called out that fight for years and was in shape. It exposed his lack of game.

    Duranimal, so right . If one round changed a career it was when Edwin unloaded on Camacho. Kudos to Hector for surviving but he was never the Macho Man again.

    Yes I wish people would understand-after the Rosario fight Camacho was done.Almost like Curry-Honeyghan.Sure they both fought numerous bouts after but they never came close to their previous form.

    What might have been? Didnt he win a world title? Last time I checked he won several and went unbeaten throughout the 1980s

    After Rosario clocked him, was basically done for.Also, never fought Mayweather and Verderosa.

    No its not.

    Its one of the most common things in the world that someone lacks courage or discipline to harness there potential.

    He accomplished alot in the sport, did well for himself, while appeasing the needs of his ego with his flamboyant style and wild-animal partying.

    All-in-all Camacho is not complaining, I'll guarantee you that.
