Casamayor, because he's one of my all-time favourite fighters. Corrales was great though, and I felt so, so sorry for him after the first fight when he got that cut in his mouth. Absolute warrior in the ring, but I loved watching Casamayor's silky skills in the ring in his prime.

Casamayor, and I really don't think it's very close. He's underrated.

The terrible tragedy, the popularity (being American) and the more exciting style makes us all love Chico, but let's be objective. Olympic Gold (pretty goddamn huge achievement in my book), SFW title, World LW Title, winning the unusual trilogy vs. Corrales, VERY close losses to Freitas, Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo, bunch of good names like Campbell, Katsidis and others, only lost clearly at the end of his career, better overall skill level and longer prime (he won the Gold back in 1992, was still the LW World champion in 2008.)

His achievement list is complete, amateur and pro.

Amateur achievments dont mean nothing here.

We are talking about the pro game and for me Corrales ranks higher but not by much, wins over Casa,JLC,Freitas,Manfredy,Gayner,Garcia tip the scale in his favour.

I rate amateur achievements just as any respected expert or historian, and I really don't give a damn if people who think boxing = prizefighting don't. The Gold doesn't double up Cepillo's resume obviously, but it's certainly a very big achievement in his achievement list. Ask any Gold-medallist-to-HOF and most of them will tell you they are most proud of the Gold. But we all have different opinions and that's good.

I simply look to their performances in their respective biggest losses to elite competition.

Corrales in his prime was humiliated by Mayweather in his own.

Casamayor (well past prime) did quite well against Marquez (also a bit past prime).

Casamayor, based on overall head to head ability, and longevity in sustaining that level of ability (obviously it's unfair to penalize Chico for no longer being with us, but his last three fights already showed that his in-ring expiration date had already passed; while Joel has fought on beyond a reasonable age - surprising quite a few people who'd written him off after Santa Cruz), deserves the higher ranking.

I think in terms of overall skill and ability, Casamayor was clearly a better fighter.

They have very similar achivements, and Corrales probably has the slightly better resume, but Casamayor won their head-to-head series.

I also don't think Casa would have been totally outclassed and outboxed by Mayweather in the same manner that Corrales was.
