Whoever agreed to this fight for JMM is the most irresponsible. The fight was a mismatch from the beginning. PBF is the best fighter of his generation: can't take that away from him. But if JMM ever had a chance, it certainly wasn't at 143, at least 15-20lbs above his natural weight. I'm just amazed that 'boxing fans' really thought JMM had a chance, and paid $50 to see him get humiliated.

Whoa, talk about looking at things objectively; its pretty obvious Nacho is bias considering Pacquiao beat his fighter two times, but he gives no credit whatsoever to Cotto, as if Cotto is a paper champ or a chump. I think he gives too much credit to speed, because thats the main thing his fighter was not able to deal with.

 

Boxing is a business. Floyd paid the price for coming in overweight. Such is life. If Marquez didn't like it, he should have "professionally" declined to fight. He accepted to fight and Mayweather battered him.

 

So Floyd is unprofessional for Marquez accepting a fight above his best fighting weight? Interesting.

Seems more to the point that Marquez accepted a great payday for a chance at glory, a chance afforded him by the pound for pound best in the world. He took it, just as Floyd took a massive shot against De La Hoya with the odds stacked against him where the money made it worthwhile. The difference is that Floyd won both times. Marquez came up short, but all the power to him for daring greatly.

 

I think besides the speed, the other thing Pac brings is the variety of angles to his shots and his not so orthodox style of fighting, he isn't what you'd call a textbook fighter.

Anyway, I guess it is possible that Nacho isn't 100% objective when predicting Pac fights, but I still have huge respect for him.

 

No, Floyd, already benefiting from every conceivable advantage as a WW, ignored the contracted weight limit and came in over. That is inexcusable. It's the reason so few real boxing fans really respect Floyd as an atg boxer.

 

I think Floyd should be praised for paying the price and having the smarts enough to know that if he sweated it out. It would have weakened him amd affected his performance. He outfoxed Nacho and JMM by putting the worm out. They could have declined and told him he needed to make weight, but they were blinded by the greed of getting and extra $300,000.00 for every pound over the weight limit. You can't blame Floyd for playing these guys.

In my opinion, he's a bit overrated as a trainer, and yes, he's super biased on Pac fights, because Pac and Freddie are 3-0 against him.

True you can't blame Floyd for playing them. Just as Floyd can't blame a lot of the fans for not respecting him for what he did.

 

And this, in one cynical post, is everything that is wrong with boxing. Congrats, you're the epitome of why the sport is in decline.
