In between your rants you pretty much answered everyone's questions bout the thought process behind the decision. It makes perfect sense.

Sorry dino, I don't buy your explanation for why you opted for an 8-rd fight instead of a 10-rounder.

Hoppa went 10 with Big Bob not so long ago - prior to that he was stopped in 2 by McCall.

At this stage of his career, he needs the rounds if he's going to improve.

I think your explanation is hiding the fact that you don't want Hoppa to risk losing his Australian title, which means you think Col is a chance of beating him.

You can harp on as much as you like about boxing being a business (I won't argue with you about that statement as I know it's true), but don't try to bull**** us by playing the 'insider' card.

You claim you chose this fight to be an 8-rounder. What was your real reason for doing so?

 

Dino 8 rounders are for novices not Aust. champions. It is an honest question regarding not fighting 12 rds for the Oz title & its a joke that the novice like Hoppa, your words, gets a chance at the crown in the 1st place. And then has the nerve to say big Col doesn't deserve a shot so the title is not on the line. Complete & utter bull**** if ya ask me. Maybe thats why only a handful of Oz fighters make it on the world scene. The McCall debacle speaks volumes!

Nobody has fought 12 rounds for the Aussie tite for years now. TBH the division is not overly deep and his subsequent wins for the title means he was well-entitled to fight for it. A lot of champs fight 10 round non-title fights, now seeing as the national title is fought over 10 is an 8 round non-title fight really that bad? As for the comments Hoppa made I see them as just sound bites for the media

 

After this particular thread wasn't that unhappy with the Wilson KO.

 

I wont hold back...i loved the Wilson KO after they acted like a bunch of pussies & not putting the title on the line.:deal

 

Great win for Col & Oz boxing overall. A fit Col still gives anyone in Oz a hard fight. Hoppa still fights the same way as he started..........like a novice. Might have to work a bit harder on him Dino & give the keyboard a rest. Not much positive you can take out of the loss. New mouthpiece perhaps.

 

It was a great win for Col after kissing the floor in the same round.

I think you will find that if its over 8 x 3mins & the current title owner gets KOed, the title changes. Might as well, who honestly think Hoppa is still the Oz heavyweight champion besides Dino.
