Omar Henry, a young unbeaten prospect who style resembles one of Miguel Cotto, has apparently declined Freddie Roach's offer to come to the Philippines and spar with Manny Pacquiao. Henry is a full time student and cites his commitment to his education as the reason why he won't be making the trip half way around the world.

Here's the video in which Henry discusses this decision.

And for those who haven't yet seen Omar Henry in action, here's the vid of his 1st professional fight which has lately been a popular watch here on ESB.

Henry's stylistic resemblance to Cotto is uncanny and having him as part of the training camp would have been invaluable to Roach and Pac.

That's too bad... looks like he would have been a great help in the training camp

Kid turned down sparring matches w/ the no.1 p4p because it is in conflict with his college schedule. I can appreciate that. Kid is wise.

get this guy in there along with sebastian lujuan and you got yourself two for sure cotto clones. He seems to have a bit more foot speed and movement than cotto but same base and punching style.

If u want to be a real fight, you go spar with the #1 P4P. Take a make up class next semester.

I didnt really expect him to go, hes PR and a big time Cotto fan.

Thats like getting a PI prospect like Sonsona to spar with with Darchinyan as he prepares for a Nonito rematch.
