Can we combine this with the Klitchskos, Adamek, Calzaghe and Abraham and realise from 160lb up, Europeans are as good as, if not better than their American contempories and stop penalising them simply for being European?

The idea that Ward is anything else than an easy tune up for Kessler while he awaits Abraham or Froch makes me laugh.

why did you leave out Haye? He was the undisputed CW champ. A much better fighter than abraham and kessler.

Good point - Haye being another.
Wasn't a thread I'd put much thought into, just sick of the reoccuring theme that American is better. American at the moment if you're not 147, is absolutely ****.

    Confident prediction...

I'm not so confident as a big Kessler fan, he could be in some trouble against Ward.

I have Kessler by late tko, but I would not be surprised by a Ward UD. Kessler was frustrated by Perdomo for three rounds, of all people. Ward will give him a lot of trouble. The question is , can Ward avoid that lethal right hand for 12 rounds? I don't think so.

Fighting in Oakland makes it harder on Kessler in my opinion. The East Bay fans will fill the arena.

let me ask you why you feel the need to combine kessler with the klitchskos, adamek, clazaghe and abraham so as people stop penalising them for being europeanz

then if you dont mind could you explain just who these people penalizing them are as well could you explain the techquiquez they were using to penalize these european fighterz simply for being european

then when these question are fully explained i feel we owe it to all european fighterz starting with kessler to start a trust fun with paypal in order to raise fundz to compenstate for the penaltiez that kessler the penilized european has incurred to date

let us now share together a minute of silence for the penalized europeanz

Yet another well thought out thread from you:roll:

Calzaghe is retired, Abraham isnt seen as the best Middlerweight, and adamek got his ass kicked by Dawson who is most likely the best fighter 160 to heavyweight. Kessler has yet to face an elite level American fighter, hell he hasnt even fought a decent american fighter...Im not een sure that he has fought a world class american bum yet.

Oddly enough I agree with the idea that you are tring to get across, because European ELITE fighters have closed the gap on the American fighters.

Ward is no tune up, this fight will be tougher than people think. I don't think Ward and his team will take this fight if they didn't think they could win. They could have easily protected him out of it, they know he has the tools that's why he's in there.

Dont say nothing....Just wait. It will be fun pulling out all these threads later..And hearing all these cats say "Damn I didnt know that ward was that good" To many of those guys have let that Lacy Calzaghe fight cloud thier judgement, now they seem to think that every American fighter middleweight to heavyweight is as they would say a hypejob...They will find out soon enough:good

The idea that Ward has this remarkable handspeed is frail. He hasn't been in a fighter who is able to counter punch as well as Kessler can.

Kessler made Calzaghe fight a completely different gameplan off the fact that if you try to throw punches in bunches against Kessler, he is very good at creating enough distance to slip in either the right cross, the right uppercut or a very stiff series of jabs.

This made Calzaghe change his gameplan and effectively engage in an outside jabbing contest with Kessler which most people are too ineffective at analysis to see.

Calzaghe going into Round 4 knew he would be in trouble if he kept attempting to land in combination and rely on handspeed - because one thing above all else beats handspeed - Timing. Kessler has impeccable timing.

Ward does not have the game that Calzaghe does to realise this, adapt mid fight and then beat Kessler at a game few people thought before hand he would - jabbing from the outside.

Therefore, this fight comes down to a simple formulae. Can Ward's handspeed and combination punching beat Mikkel's defensive work, timing and impeccable technique.

The simple answer is an 85% No, with a 10% "Maybe for a few rounds, but can he do it late" and a 5% "For the whole fight"

If the Calzaghe fight was not enough to show you why Kessler will beat Ward, go back in time to a much better fighter than what Ward is and better physical tools than Ward has, in Anthony Mundine - who Kessler dismantled by, what the class says? Timing.

The few difficulties he had with Mundine will be ironed out these days.

This is coming from a guy who gave Kessler no chance at Joe and one of the few guys who predicted Joe would land more jabs than Kessler before the fight.

Ward's only hope is somehow KO'ing Kessler. This is about as likely as Wladimir Klitschko being KO'ed by De La Hoya.

This is about as well thought out as any other thread made - if you look at my reasons below, you'll see why I'm entirely bullish about Kessler dismantling Ward.

There is nothing Ward has in his game that can offset Kessler and when you have chin difficulties against a precision puncher who WILL find you more than once with a power shot, you're in for a tough night.

Kessler has his faults, but they will not be exposed in this fight.

Librado Andrade is pretty much an American, although I know his nationality is officially listed as Mexican. If you count him, actually - he's the #1 American SMW.

There really are no elites at 168 who are nationalized U.S. citizens. The three you can make the best case for are in the Super Six.

This thread is a clear indication that you are clueless about Ward... Calzaghe is a brawler/mauler with fast hand and I high workrate. Ward is a boxer with a slow controlled pace. Ward is also bigger and just as fast as Mundine, not to mention just a flat out better fighter.

Your goal here of hooking Calzaghe's wagon to Kessler is sad, had Joe fought better fighters thoughout his career there would be no need for this.:good
