Calzaghe wins. Kessler is a better version of Pavlik, very good 1 - 2, upright style, good power, Kessler is just a tad faster and has better defense. Calzaghe would adjust to Pavlik's pressure and take over the fight in the middle rounds.

It's amazing how much opinions change after 1 fight (the hopkins one obviously) but I remember when everyone was saying that Pavlik would destroy Calzaghe and take him out early.

Not saying people are wrong to change opinions after a fight, because hopkins was a step up in class but shows how hyped Pavlik was at the time.

Calzaghe wins the same way Hopkins did, with footwork alone.

Enzo Calzaghe called the Pavlik/Hopkins fight spot on and saw Pavlik as a relatively easy fight for Joe for the same reasons.

Too bad we'll never know, since Joe ran like a frightened school girl. He's the only fighter in recent memory that ducked the same guy he spent six months calling out.

Roy Jones was more shot than John Kennedy. Calzaghe ducked Pavlik, end of story. Watch and learn NOOB!

    like, omg!!!

your missing the point. who would have won or whose resume is better is besides the fact that joe did call out pav after the jt fight. there was even an article on esb's homepage of joe "congratulating" pav on his win and inviting him up for a fight. he continued to talk about the fight and call him out. pav then fights his stablemate and ***** slaps him for a few rounds and after the fight asks the crowd if they want to see him fight joe. then...joe makes what he sees to be a better business decision and fight a guy who he even admitted on tape (video on here somewhere) that jones was way past it.

I agree that Joe should be a big favorite, but those poll number are ridiculous. According to the votes, Kelly would have only a 6 percent shot of winning. That's crazy. Yeah, I know, he's one dimensional. But the kid can punche. And if Joe can get dropped by an old Hopkins or an old Jones, he could certainly get cracked by Pavlik. Styles make fights, and while I believe that Joe would win an easy decision, there's much better than a 1 in 15 chance that he gets caught.

Calzaghe very easily on points. Just way too quick and skilled.
Was very disapointed when Calzaghe chose to fight Jones instead. I'm assuming that was entirely for the money and not because he was running scared as some deeply delusional Pavlik fans would have you believe.
Joe DOSE deserve criticism for not fighting Pavlik but its farcial to think he was in anyway scared of Pavlik. He was just being very cynical in his choice of opponent.

Maybe a lot of them think as you do, that Pavlik has a chance but would likely loose. Theres only two options in the poll.
