Nielsen was past prime(if he ever had a prime) in that fight, and Tyson was most definately over the hill and down the walley. Besides Tyson wasn't a fighter that would show up new an fresh, like holyfield did against Valuev. It would be a boring fight with only few punches. Valuev would tire Mike out by clinching, and occationally tap him with those not-so-ramrod jabs. Tyson was lethargic at this stage of his career, but he always has a punchers chance, If he can reach valuev's chin, that is.

Valuev wins by a disputable split decision.

i can agree with this as tyson didn't have the heart or determination at that point of his career, i take back what i originally said. i agree with this post

Tyson in that fight was at his all time high weight, I think at 239 or 240 pounds. Plus he was off for about a year or more as I recall. Still I was surprised at his stamina for those 6 or 7 rounds or how long it lasted. Sure he had a punching bag in front of him but he still kept the body shots and combos going. Another surprise, Mike throwing vicious body punches and some great combos throught the fight. Also had pretty fast hands for such a high weight. Still, his timing was off and who are we kiding, he was over the hill anyway. But if that Tyson fought Valuev he would either win a UD or a late round TKO - that is if the fight isnt in Germany or Europe then Valuev wins regardles of what happens. :yep

Tyson, just by showing up. Valuev did so little against Holyfield, I can barely imagine him throwing a punch anymore.

Valuev would win by late KO or UD if Tyson wouldn’t quit.

Tyson wouldn’t have stamina and determination he would need to get win against Valuev at that point of his career.

I'd still pick Tyson even at this stage of his career. He had a great chin, still had the power and would chop Valuev down with body shots which would fold him up and bring his chin into Tysons reach. If a really old shot to pieces Holyfield can lose a very disputable decision against the giant then I'm sure Tyson could at that part of his career.

Good point. Forgot how awful Valuev was in Holyfield fight.

Im starting to believe that old Tyson would beat the giant.

**** I'd take the Nielsen from the Tyson fight to clearly beat Valuev
EDIT: For some reason I was thinking of Frans Botha, not Nielsen. Who knows as Tyson looked fairly ordinary vs Nielsen (nielsen looked bad), that Tyson would probably have some problems and maybe fouls out as he wasn't in that great a shape.
