if haye beats valuev he will not defend against ruiz he will try for a time marking fight then fight one of the klits ,why has ruiz never been a target for the klits

I just don't like the trend of contenders getting title shots without fighting each other; I just consider "old guy getting title shot on past glories" a lesser of 2 evils (idiot gets his mouth shut and hopefully fades to Bolivian). No, they don't deserve it any more than Johnson. But I'd just like to see it more...

You don't know how the WBA works... if Haye doesn't defend vs Ruiz, he'll likely be stripped and Ruiz will fight Meehan/Chagaev/Valuev or Holyfield for the title. Maybe Haye can change that model, but I doubt it.

And that's why Ruiz has never come close to a Klit fight - he's content swimming in the WBA pool.

Because Ruiz is irrelevant in the HW division (now). Beating up Ruiz would cause the haters to go rampage even more than this fight does.

I think alot of you guys who claim to know your boxing on here are going to be surprised by the display Kevin Johnson will put on.

I am in the minority in this thread who thinks that Kevin Johnson will give an excellent account of himself and I see this going the full 12.

Vitali will probably get the decision but I can see Johnson boxing well and just putting up an oldskool boxing display, Larry Holmes Style.

i respect ur post :goodand I'm a big fan of Kevin but he is fighting a guy in a different class than what hes faced...I think Vitali will make the corner stop it late...On top of that hes fighting in Germany so HE WILL NOT WIN A DECISION AND EVEN IF HE DID HE WOULD GET ROBBED...

True. But who else should Vitali fight?

    The list is like:

    1./2. Vitali, Wlad

I'm just really not feeling it with this fight. I think Johnson isn't even properly ready to fight any of the top ten yet let alone a title holder, and this will be an incredibly easy night for Vitali.

If Johnson proves me wrong then hey, crow pie, but based on what's actually happened in his and Vitali's careers so far I simply see a quick beatdown and that doesn't grab my interest as a viewer. I do not care enough about someone like Johnson for this to entice me to see him upset the odds or, much more likely, get pounded.

As I said before, I don't attach any blame on Vitali for this if it happens. I just hope it won't.

Assuming we could roll back the clock a year, it would be nice to see Haye, Johnson, Chambers, Povetkin and Arreola square off. Whoever emerged victorious out of that bunch would then be a decent challenger to the kilts. You need big fight experience against legitimate opponents before you have a hope of felling one of the giants.

Ruiz was paid an undisclosed amount by Sauerland/King to step aside in order for Value - Haye to happen. That automatically means Ruiz will fight the winner, probably within 180 days of the fight.

yeah that i know, but i cant even remember ruiz being talked about as a possible opponent for either klit in the last couple of years though which is a bit odd but then for boxing polotics maybe not

From what I understand Ruiz has been managed by Don King for a large portion of his career plus he has only been fighting the WBA circle jerk of "champions" and fighters. The Klitz don't deal with Don King and Ruiz never became a mandatory for the other belts so I guess that's why a fight never materialized.

If Ruiz should win the WBA strap and not be managed by Don King I am sure K2 will make him an offer for a unification bout.
