lets say, for arguments sake, bertos pulls out a close decision win over Mosley, immediately haters will say he's just beaten up an old man. Will a victory against sugar shane be enough to convince the doubters, and will a victory propel him to the top of the division? If Berto beats Mosley, I just don't see people putting above cotto/mayweather. Chances are Mosley will expose him anyways! What you guys think?
He already is the #1 welter, Floyd gave that up when he retired for two years, Margarito vs Cotto brought #1 and #2 together teh winner Margarito then became #1, Mosley knocked out Margarito and stole the spot from him.. A win over Berto does not make him #1 cus he already is, however it does validate his spot and adds another title to Mosleys collection of belts he will now carry WBC and WBA, Floyd will have to fight him if he wants to be #1
I did, Cotto lost to Margarito just after a close narrow win over Mosley, Floyd was out, retired gone left the sport and his fans. Mosley fought then Margarito and knocked him out, Margarito beat the number 1 fighter at the time Cotto.... Floyd had retired a few days before the fight giving up his spot. Mosley took it in the margarito fight, whats so hard to understand about that, yes I read the question very carefully but dont expect me to lie in the name of Mayweather that just wont happen.
Mosley is the World Welterweight Champion, whoever beats him takes the World Welterweight Championship from him. Cotto, Floyd, Pac, Clottey, Williams and Margarito can do a Super Six tournament for the #1 contender spot, but the champ will still remain Shane Mosley or whoever beats him. You gotta beat the Man to be the Man. Mosley is the Man.
He will be the linear Champion. Like Baldomir was when he beat Zab. Then the debate comes down to Cotto or Mayweather assuming Cotto wins.
But Cotto moved on to lose to Margarito, of which Mosley came behind him to knock Margarito out after the fact..... Wake up man..
