When this fight was announced, I felt a bit uncomfortable with it: I prefer Pavlik to Williams, but I also liked Williams and felt like he was about to go out of his depth, get smashed and left in the dust at 154 for several years with very little recognition. But after the hate Pavlik's been getting for about a year now, and the trash-talk and **** that's been coming out of PW's camp, I'd be happy to see him spanked.

 

Good post, and I think you're right about what happens if PW makes it past 5-6 rounds. The question would be, can he move around a lot and still do enough to win rounds. Right or wrong judges tend to favor aggression.

However, stamina is not the only thing that seperates Taylor and Williams. Paul is taller and longer (obviously.) Jermain is far more accurate and probably hits harder. Jermain was a big middle. In spite of his height Paul still makes a small middle.

Let's just hope Paul doesn't come in banking on chin and work rate to see him through. That would be foolish. Paul deserves major props for fighting a guy Calzghe and Wright avoided. As long as he puts in a good solid performance, he'll get his props.

well i can tell you this. the last time i felt the way i did when pav ko'd jt was when UF beat the sweet jesus hell out of FSU for the title after just losing to them. BUT...i came back down to earth real quick when i saw jermain like that in the corner. i would probably feel the same way about pw. jermain is one of my all time favorite guys, but i do like paul a lot and as happy as i would be to see pav skull drag him around the ring and leave him slumped in the corner, i would come back down to earth real quick seeing paul look like jt did.

Flush left hook to the chin. Pavlik fell on his ass and immediately got up.

All the fights which Pav got dropped in really dont mean much, Ive never seen him dropped hard to the point where he smacks his head against the canvas. The Taylor knockdown was a brutal combo dead in his face and he was up at the count of two. Pav's chin and recovery are fine. Froch went down harder and longer with half as many shots then what Pavlik took.

 

willimas will be knitting sweaters for the rest of his career after pavlik is done with him.

 

It would make my night if Williams got KTFO.

 

you guys are really understating PWills power. I mean, Im sure he doesn't perfer to but he can load up and knock you out cold with both hands. He simply has every physical advantage in this fight IMO; height, reach, speed, stamina, workrate. I don't like KP's chances
