JMM isn't the same figher he was at 126-135....at 140+ JMM doesn't have speed, power or the fluidity to campign. No matter how much more skillful he is against Hatton...the size, power and lack of speed will always be a problem for JMM. He needs to fight at his natural or a more comfortable weight class.
marquez has some trouble with juan diaz...while hatton is a level above diaz with power... those people who thinks this is easy fight for JMM, should just STFU..
I agree completely he's not shot and he has plenty in the tank but he's not the same fighter at 140 or above. The speed, power, fluidity and movement are hinder massively above 135. Couple that with his advancing age and the fact he is already slowing doesn't equal out to a successful stint at 140 against one of the best Jr WW's out there. I'm not making a mistake about JMM at or above 140. I said it before the fight with Floyd he has little chance b/c he'll be slower and he wouldn't put on the weight effectively in order to keep those attributes he enjoyed at a more natrual weight. Many had it in their mind that b/c PAC was able to carry the weight effectively and keep all of his attributes that JMM would do the same. There are few who were able to accomplish this feat and unfortunately at some point the most skilled fighters do hit a wall. JMM's wall was 135. Styles make fights and given the fact that Floyd's style is all wrong for JC Superstar and Floyd style is a nightmare I agree. Floyd would be JCC at 140. JCC was a beast...he was a great fighter and champion but he is beatable with the right style....especially someone as talented and gifted as floyd who wouldn't fight any other fight but his own. Floyd is nearly unbeatable fighting the "Conservative/Cautious" fights he's know to put on against guys near his skill, talent or ability level. At 147 in a weight that was NOT Ricky's natrual weight he did a lot better than JMM. I know it's a completely different fight but I dont' see the same JMM you do at 140 or above.
Again, you're basing that just by looking at the Mayweather fight.....which is'nt a good barometer to which to gauge a fighter, because of Mayweather's unnatural talent and skillset. ......you need to see the Lazcano fight Charlie.....Hatton was rescued from getting KTFO in that fight by the hometown referee. That right there compounded by getting dropped by a simple Pacquiao right hand in the very first round should tell us where Hatton is at these days.
Charlie, I'm not saying its going to happen.......but will you change your mind on where Hatton is at currently (you've overrating him I believe) if Cotto would just devour Pacquiao in a fight where its plain to see that size mattered???? ......see, from my perspective, Pacquiao is still unproven at 140 lbs and above.......I cant base where Pacquiao is at right now at those weights based on him beating DLH who weighed less than Pacquiao, and Hatton who was on ***** street with a simple Pacquiao right hand...... When the hell has Pacquiao ever put anyone on ***** street by delivering a right hand? There was nothing spectacular or overpowering about that right hand Charlie, and Hatton crumbled easily from it. Pacquiao has yet to experience a fighter in those weight classes with the ability to return fire........ ......so I say that if he beats Cotto, then what you're referring to in this thread may have some validity, and I may be underrating Hatton based on his crumbling so easily at the hands of Pacquiao. Hatton is completely shot is what I'm referring too.......and for Pacquiao to prove himself against Cotto, could lend credence that Hatton is'nt as shot as I think, and it was just Pacquiao who's just that good....... ......I'm open to seeing it a different way if I see Pacquiao doing to Cotto things I dont think he's capable at in these higher weights.
i just think that jmm should not be fighting above 135. he could be maxed-out on that weight. he could not carry his speed and his power at 142. people think that if he fought pac almost equally at 126 and 130, it would translate to the higher weights? but let's see, for all we know, hatton could be damaged not just physically but mentally after the beating he got from his last fight.
You're not taking into account that weighing 142 lbs, Marquez was possibly fighting the quickest and the fastest fighter in boxing period........not to mention that Mayweather now happens to be a full fledged Welterweight. Again now, I know I'm trying ot get across to a *******......3 things.....Mayweather who's a full fledged Welterweight now, by many peoples accounts also happens to be the quickest and fastest fighter in boxing, bar none! You cant possibly say for certain whether Marquez carried his speed or power past 140 lbs when he's being gauged against that attributes of Mayweather that translate him to boxing's best P4P!
i agree with divac.... and for those saying haton would ko jmm, if pbf couldnt do it, how is the hitman gonna do it
