Is it Mayweather or Mosley speaking the truth about why no fight in 1999 ?

FROM MOSLEY'S LAST INTERVIEW POSTED ON ESB:

Q: After you challenged him, a week later, Mayweather wished you good luck in your career which seemed to indicate he’s not interested in fighting you. He also mentioned that he challenged you twice, and he claims that you turned him down back in 1999 and again in 2006. Did you really turn him down?

A: Like I said, he’s really a liar. He likes to lie a lot. In 1999 there’s a film where he’s fighting in Michigan when he was fighting at 130 and I was fighting at 135, and I asked him, like when HBO does the prefight analysts talk to the fighters before they fight. I talked to him, and hopefully it’s recorded somewhere—I think it was on FX—I asked him, “Are you planning on coming up to lightweight to fight me?” And he said, “No,” He had no intention of coming to lightweight to fight me, he wanted t beat Carlos Monzon’s record. He didn’t want to come to lightweight. That’s when I jumped from lightweight to welterweight to fight Oscar De La Hoya. That was the first incident that he’s talking about, so he turned me down in 1999.

Mosley ditched him because he had better options, that's how it was, he also ditched him after the Vargas fight to allow the DLH fight. Why the hell would Mosley bother and fight an unknown in Mayweather when he had DLH calling him out for a JACKPOT of a mega fight in 2000 and history making/new weight title?

    All fighters do that.

Another good one is this. Why the hell would Pacquiao bother and fight an unknown in Valero when DLH is calling two weights above for a HUGE fight?, does it mean Pac is scared shitless from Valero!?

Mayweather is doing the same thing now, why fight Mosley when he have a much bigger money making fight against the winner of Pacquiao vs Cotto. Does that mean that Mayweather is scared of Mosley? Hell no!!! It's all about business in boxing as it should be; then cementing your legacy after you have made the most money you possibly can..

A fight with Mosley is still necessary. Too much talk/history between the two even if Mosley is past it.

Honestly is shouldn't matter. The fight is bigger today then it was 10 years ago isn't it? Doesn't it make more sense now then when neither where known to pretty much anyone? Also, look at what happened when Winky accepted Floyd's challenge. Saying yes apparently doesn't mean the fight will happen anyway. This is just another manufactured excuse.

Exactly, Mayweather was chasing Mosley back then to beat a name. Mosley turned down Mayweather plenty of time. I have that fight on DVD when Mayweather was fighing in his home town and Mosley was calling the fight with the other announcer. So Mosley is doing some lying himself because the other announcer was asking Mosley about fighting Mayweather, and he said he wasn't looking to fight Mayweather.

I believe Floyd would not have risked his 0 back in 1999. Gotta go with Mosley.

Its all moot. They'll never fight each other.

The fact is right now only Shane is the one who wants to fight

but come on - Shane has fought Winky Wright who is a middle weight

There is NO WAY he is afraid of Floyd

Thats why he wants to fight him
