I don't get it, people always complain about the orgs stripping fighters and preventing unifcation bouts. Here, we have the WBC actually using some common sense. Berto already beat Collazo. He is now taking on a tougher fighter in a unification match. Shouldn't this be what the fans want? And let's be honest, Berto-Collazo wasn't going to happen anyway. Berto would vacate that belt and fight Mosley over Collazo any day of the week.

He wasn't robbed in either of those fights. They were close fights, but no robbery. Against Berto, he was thoroughly outworked down the stretch. If he was more disciplined between fights, maybe he would've had more stamina in those championship rounds.
He beat Rivera on SCB, so that could be considered high profile. Many thought he beat both Berto and Hatton as well. He's had purse bids cancelled now for a fight with Clottey and a rematch with Berto. Sounds kind of like bad luck to me.
His bout with Rivera really wasn't high profile. Neither are a big name, and it was for the bogus WBA regular title. Yeah, he's had some tough losses, but he's gotten his fair share of opportunities.
Well it sucks for Collazo but at least were getting the Unification match. Maybe Collazo can get the winner?
Agreed. You and BigReg both have made good points on the matter. In fact, I believe I scored Collazo vs. Berto for Collazo and would like to see him get a rematch. Very unfortunate for him not to get it, as much as I do want to see Berto tested against the likes of Mosley.
Its just that if your not marketable the fights worthless Like everybody mad when fighters dont take certain fights. Boxing dies when the money stops rolling in. Not when so called hardcore fans get mad because they not taking the so called toughest fights. Shane isnt very marketable to floyd but its a god send to berto who was offered 750k for another fight he could get a million or two this aint enough for Mr.PPV but he saves berto life. I dont want to see berto collazo again I want him to fight shane. I think people just want to see the top cats lose. You wanna see him loose throw him in there with a Lion and let him go out like a baby cub but still a lion himself
Well in a sense it's good to now have Mosley vs Berto but it's bad in a way cause hbo rather see Diaz vs Paulie rematch instead of Berto vs Collazo rematch in which that first fight was a great one. I mean seriously who you people rather see Berto vs Collazo rematch or Diaz vs Paulie rematch?
Obviously I'd rather see Berto get starched by Mosley anyway. My only fear is that they'll give Collazo an interim belt, and Mosley will beat the crap out of Berto, leading to Mosley-Collazo II. If that happens, Mosley's two mandatories would be Senchenko and Collazo, and lord knows I don't want to see Mosley waste his time fighting either of them.
Why you rather see that fight? Sure Paulie got robbed but it wasn't a very good fight while Berto vs Collazo was a very good fight in which that fight deserve to have a rematch.
I'd rather see the Mosley fight but if HBO is willing to pay for a pillowfight rematch they shouldve bought the rematch to a FOTY candidate. The first was brutal
