There's no denying this. Roach is vocal about requiring others to cut weight to fight Pacquiao.

That said, I'm just happy that the fight is happening.

if it were at 147 I would give him credit for fighting a full sized ww at the max potential, now I just give him credit for fighting a good figher

why are the *******s making such a big deal about pacquiao going up in weight to fight cotto? marquez fought the true #1 p4p in the world, floyd jr., who is a much better fighter than cotto! they act as if pacquiao is the only fighter in history to go up in weight and fight outside their normal weight.

lol...pacquiao reminds me of that dude that always waits until someone else fights the tougher guys (marquez) before he jumps into the fray.

and to that ******* who said mayweather jr. liked to ducked fighters, is again using a double standard when it comes to his god because pacquiao has ducked about as many fighters as mayweather jr. has.

.....was JMM vs Floyd a "True WW Match"? How bout Floyd vs Ricky? I think it was b/c it was a "WW Fight". They were within the WW limit so it is what it is.

wow! so your saying why can't Pac have him completely weight drained at
143 instead of possibly semi-drained at 145? :patsch

hell no I don't give "can't make weight mayweather" any credit for the fight. I wouldve had he made 144 and let himself be weighed on fight night

IT's truly amazing that PAC has chosen the path of MOST resistance in his quest to be the best in boxing. 3 yrs ago when these names were mentioned everyone laughed at the thought...INCLUDING ME! But he's done more than anyone has expected and I give him a lot of credit. I give Cotto a lot of credit as well. This is a tough fight he didn't have to take....but $$$ talks in this sport.

Cotto proposed that weight and he agreed to it. Cotto isn't having any trouble making the 145 weight limit. He was 146 with Josh and started camp still in shape. Miguel knew PAC wouldn't fight at 147 b/c him and Roach stated they wouldn't so Cotto proposed a weight that he could make and that PAC would agree to. Props to both for making the fight happen.

Floyd agreed to 144 with JMM but showed up at 146 against the already smaller man, who never faught above 140. So Floyd is immune to being held under the same kind of scrutiny?

Floyd is the better fighter, and would beat cotto. But P4P Cotto can give 10 times a bigger beating to his opponents then Floyd. marquez would not make it out the 6 round with cotto. if he did, he would never be the same. Only chance pac has is his speed and to see if he can hurt cotto like torres did.
