In my opinion, when you look at a round like 7 and 9 in the first fight - they have to be Barrera rounds. The action was fairly close going into the last 5 seconds of each round. You maybe would have given the edge to Morales in both for work rate, but Barrera had hurt Morales twice in round 9 early and had landed the biggest punch of round 7 up until the last 5 seconds. In the last 5 seconds in both, Barrera lands three flush shots on Morales jaw in both rounds, and has him reeling at the end of the bell. They HAVE to be Barrera rounds for me, and that's why he won the fight. In my eyes, we're all different.

I never saw a boxing lesson in the rematch - some Morales fans have gone crazy over that.

Cant say I agree with that mate but we did score several rds the same, here`s mine......

    Round 1: 10-9 Morales
    Round 2: 10-9 Morales
    Round 3: 10-9 Even
    Round 4: 10-9 Morales
    Round 5: 10-9 Morales
    Round 6: 10-9 Barrera
Round 7: 10-9 Morales (should have been 10-8 as EM was denied a legit KD)
    Round 8: 10-9 Morales
    Round 9: 10-9 Barrera
    Round 10: 10-9 Morales
    Round 11: 10-9 Morales
    Round 12: 10-9 Barrera

Ps. how can you give Marco rd 8, he was outboxed & outgeneraled the entire rd by Erik`s jab & movement alone, just look at the frustration on his face when he fouls Morales to the ground.

He did.... but the politics involved in boxing knew there would be no rubber match with Erik 2-0 up.

    Usual ****.

I always thought Barrera got the victory to set up the trilogy and because he should have got the nod in the first one.

2-1 to Barrera in the trilogy was the right result but the winners of the first 2 fights were scored the wrong way around.

Round 1 and 11 were very close, and both could have gone to Barrera. The knockdown was a result of Morales clipping Barrera's foot, as I proved in the previous thread with footage. Other than that, a close fight went to Marco - which I think sounds about right.

That would have given you a draw, Bill.

When the most notorious EM nuthugger in the world makes it this close, you know it was MAB's fight. lol at giving EM 4-1 in the first half, DOUBLE LOL at giving him the back half of the fight. Those are some EM colored glasses you're wearing.

    Good man.

Anyone that knows anything about boxing/scoring a fight or is non-biased knows Morales definitely won this fight, no doubt.

This shouldnt even be a debate, it was the clearest win of the trilogy for either man & Ive watched all 3 fights with no sound numerous times.

If you think my scorecard of 8-3-1 for Morales was CLOSE then we`re probably wasting our time here

    Addie :patsch

Firstly, I want to say, Im not even bothered about Morales being denied the KD, he never even needed it to win the fight but to call that a slip is ridiculous.

I have both versions of the fight (UK & HBO), the HBO version shows that the feet were slightly touching when EM leaned in for the shot, there was no stepping on toes or anything to cause MAB to fall other than 1. the body punch & 2. his balance.
Balance is a part of boxing, if MABs balance was a little off when that punch landed, tough ****, its a KD (see Oscar-Pea for something similar, except that punch was way softer & that KD was given, correctly)

Do I think that if MAB had his feet spread for balance when that shot connected, he`d have gone down ? No, very unlikely... but being off balance doesnt & shouldnt excuse a KD.

That decision by the notoriously incompetent Jay Nady was only outdone in wrongfulness by the decision of the 3 dumbasses judging.

    Thats my honest opinion :good

Finally, a big Barrera fan that sees the reality.

Ps. Addie & bernie, PM this man for instructions on how to score a fight.

Ive already explained the 7th rd KD, Ive seen it too many times anyway so we`ll agree to disagree on that since it wasnt needed on my card for a Morales win.

There were a few close rds, seperated by the cleaner or harder punches (or both) by Morales, rds 1 & 11 were such rds.

Marco`s best rd was the 12th because he (& his corner) thought he needed a knockout & he still took a few clean solid shots from EM in that rd.

Am I correct in saying that you have only viewed this fight twice ? & if so, did you watch with the sound down as I advised ? :think

You are insane. The first fight was the closest, a back and forth war with neither man giving an inch and giving as good as he got. I think MAB got the better of it. Second fight is easy to score, first half nearly even second half ALL MAB. Third fight, easiest one of all, a clear and certain MAB victory that only you could deny.
