Tough one, fighting on with broken fist and grimacing when still throwing against Ward will always remain in my memory

 

Chavez just watch the comback he made against Taylor speaks volumes about heart and will.

 

That's a hard list to distinguish from. I say all of them.

 

Corrales in my view, the only guy in that list who was out on his feet against someone and still managed to find a way to win.

Gatti just took bigtime punishment, heart to withstand, but not heart to come out ontop.

Gatti never beat anyone worth a damn - the fact that his most documented fights came against Ward because he struggled so much with the journeyman tell you something.

Like I say, the heart to withstand punishment, but not the heart to be elite.

 

Past his prime and you dont have to win a fight to have a big heart and nobody had a bigger heart in the ring than Gatti .

 

Difference being, Corrales beat a top level elite fighter (JLC)
Gatti never did.

 

He didn't have the "skill" to beat the elite which has nothing to do with heart.
