Even before the Calzaghe fight and before the rotator cuff surgery, Lacy was never a dominant fighter by any means. Not a very skilled fighter either. He struggled with guys like Sheika and Reid. His flaws were evident way before he fought Calzaghe. Here in the US we tend to get caught up with KO power but neglect skill and we overhyped the hell out of him. The guy was always a bum.. sorry to say... Chad Dawson has absolutely nothing in common with Jeff Lacy other than their nationality.

Is that why bookmakers gave me 4 to 1 odds on Calzaghe and paid for my house when I bet the house on it? His skill was there, much like Dawson's skill is there - but he's not an elite fighter and that was shown up. Dawson will be shown up too.
i dont get how people say PW walks around at around 155lbs yet he was weight drained going into the Quintana fight which was at 147lbs. Tahts only 8 pounds he would have had to lose right??? Its all a bunch of excuses we get. When PW gets matched up against a smaller WW u guys talk about how he can make the weight blah blah blah then he loses against a WW and he was weight drained. Then when we mention he should fight someone in his heigh range like Dawson he is too small and doesnt weigh enough. How in the hell if PW walks around at 155 balloon up to 157 or 158 in one day after teh weigh in?? So what is it is he a natural WW LMW or MW??? Once Pavlik beats him of course he was never a MW to begin with. When a WW beats him he was weight drained. When a LMW beats him he will have outgrown that divison also. Come on PW is good basically because he has always had physical advantages. He wont have them against KP so we will see how good he is.
I like Paul Williams as much as the next guy, but come on. Remember what a slick, quick southpaw did to Williams in the form of Quintana? Well, Dawson is like Quintana, but bigger than Paul, stronger than Paul, faster than Paul, with more power than Paul, and more skill than Paul. Dawson's movement and handspeed help to nullify the workrate of Williams, and his superior skill and combination punching help get him out of there.
You got to wonder about the TS. The thread really is relevant IF he beats Pavlik so why run it now. He doesn't know much about Pdub if he doesn't know about the weight.
Dawson is faster than Williams, and if this takes place at 175, Williams will be a sitting target because he will be much slower.
