Why does Floyd likes to portray himself as a gladiator, a warrior or a gangster?

He doesn't TRY to go for the KO when he says he will KO his opponent. Don't you get it or are you too ****in stupid to understand this thread? He could have KO'd Baldomir, but chose to play it safe. He said he would punish DLH, but played it safe. He could have KO'd Marquez, but chose to play it safe. And in his next fight, he'll talk tough like he's a warrior and going to play it safe again.

Simple question, even for you...WHY say you are going to do this and that to your opponent but don't even try?

Lance I think you may have been uppercutted a little too hard dude. Anyone can talk in the ring, but to make a jab sting, takes a king.
Hopkins said that he would that Felix Trinidad was too small for him. So he implied that he was going to fight him in a chess booth, but when the fight started; he preceeded to outbox and outslick Trinidad. So the moral of my story is: If you are undefeated you can say what the **** you want to!! Just continue to kick ass and take names later because bottom line it doesn't matter if you fight like a gladiator going toe to toe. You can outpoint someone and be a true gladiator!! Doesn't take a knockout artist to be a gladiator. It take someone with smarts to continue winning while collecting all the money they can and in the sport of boxing that's all that matters. I love Ali, but look at him. I respect Gerald Mccellan but look at his fate. Shane Mosley is a joke now look at him. He's broke and is desparate for a big purse because his wife divorced him. He didn't fight Floyd while he had the chance. Life is a game of taking chances, if you let a chance slip away, you may never reach that opportunity again..

of course he tries, but not if it is going to put him at a risk of losing. perfect example is the hatton fight.

and to be perfectly honest i do not think he could have KO'd Baldomir, the dude had a granite chin

He did not try to KO Hatton...it just came. There's a difference between going for the kill, and letting a KO come.

He could have tried. His fight w/ Baldomir was so one sided and boring, Floyd could have taken a LITTLE risk here and there at least. But no. He talked about how bad he was before the fight, and then fought safety first causing people to boo and leave early.

Here's the point....Don't advertise something you have no intention of delivering. It can't get any more simple then that. Makes you look like a liar or phony.

    I like Floyd; I think he is the most gifted fighter of this era. But he really should fight some real welters? Or drop down to 140 and campaign there;
    or just retire.

Because no one including myself will ever consider him an
ATG. Unless, your a groupie of course. If he does fight some real welters before he retires, win or lose he should get his due.

That's fine. He can say anything he wants. But when it's fight night, he fights like a cutie and the OPPOSITE of what he said he would do.

come on man you are the most unreasonable person i have ever seen..

so if a boxer says hes going to knock a guy out that means he has to go out and start swining for the fences from the first bell???

mayweather outboxed hatton for 10 rounds and knocked him out.. how the **** did it just come??

BTW, my answer to this thread is SHOWMANSHIP. He is a showman and
a master at selling fights. His heart can be questioned, but not his skills.

:patsch Unreasonable?? I was asking questions while all you did was talk about being undefeated, as if that has anything to do with the topic.

NO...that doesn't mean you swing for the fences. Is that what it means to YOU? Do you know what a good finisher even looks like? Maybe you should have seen Floyd fight 7-8 years ago noob. He was a much different fighter then.

And no **** he outboxed for Hatton for 10 rounds. That doesn't mean he went for the kill. There's a difference which you obviously don't know about.

the question was why does floyd portray himself like that? my answer was that he portrays himself that way because he is undefeated and he can. I was giving my opinion. which is what you do on a forum.

And yes I saw Floyd 7-8 years ago.. I didn't start watching boxing 2 years ago. He threw more combinations then I will give you that.. but the results were the same. he won..

And once he had Hatton hurt he knocked him out.. how did he not go for the kill??
