Valero - Mayweather

If Valero called him out and insulted him in public Floyd might actually say "make the ****ing fight" to Ellerbe then we get to see Mayweather beat up on more lightweights at welterweight.

On a more serious note it's a remotely possible tuneup style fight to prepare for Pacquiao and I can't say I would be shocked if it did happen.

It would sure beat calling out Ivan Calderon though.

 

You can argue that every puncher has a puncher's chance. PBF would neutralize it againts Valero though. He's just too small to get around PBF's shoulders.

 

Have you seen Valero fight? He throws punches like Ricardo Mayorga, albeit much harder...but, no, Valero wouldn't have a puncher's chance, because he wouldn't catch Mayweather with anything. Mayweather would counter punch the **** out of Valero.

 

Valero needs to actually fight a good opponent before we start putting him in fantasy fights with one of the best Boxers right now.

 

I doubt it...Valero stepping up doesnt mean he should fight a top fighter in the higher divisions. Try fighting the top guys in his own division first to even get noticed.

 

At this point in Floyd's career, he's too big for Valero.

Valero's alleged crunching power needed 10 freaking rounds to make the referee stop the fight with El Loco Mosquera. His power wasn't able to knock Mosquera out cold. This was at 130 lbs.

Mayweather is a legitimate welterweight now.

 

He did ice Pitalua in his first fight at 135, so he may have been experiencing trouble making 130. There's no doubt the man has power, but he's never been in the ring with anything remotely resembling Mayweather before. Floyd's bigger, stronger, practically impossible to hit and stings you accurately with counters every mistake you make. Unless Valero gets an ounce of respect with his power he'd get picked apart and possibly stopped late(or mid rounds if Floyd felt like putting more venom on his punches to finish the smaller opponent)

 

A more realistic fight that would make sense, would be with Guzman, if Guzman can beat Ali Funeka. It would be a lightweight unification match.

 

not impossible but the possibility is very slim.

 

Anything is possible in boxing. A fight against jmm or guzman is what I see in the future, that is if ever edwin got that elusive US visa.

 

I dnt wanna b funny but I really cnt see it happening. PBF is jus too fast and elusive for the free swinging Velero...I actually see Floyd pounding Edwin to a 10rnd TKO (if that long)

 

Hey what's with the preoccupation with matching Floyd with lower weight guys?

He claims to be the greatest of all time, but says it's just business moves from now on?

And he doesn't fight the top guys in his own weight class?

You'd have a better chance of having Jesus Christ as your waiter at Red Lobster, than seeing Valero beat Floyd.

 

Prime for prime @ 135? Mayweather TKO late or whopping UD.

I'd say Mayweather T/KO 5. He's just too big and accurate for the Venezualan.
