I hope you're right. I'm pretty sick of Froch and his trash talking. "Dirrel is a young unbeaten fighter but he's in deep, deep water. He needs to realize he's coming to the arm pit, I mean the snake pit, where I'm gonna unleash some heavy, heavy artillery and smash him to bits" How many times have I heard that in the last few weeks? Dude needs a new writer.
This is a major problem I find with ESB there's very little understanding of 'dry wit' or 'sarcasm'. I don't mean to be disrespectful here but sometimes I wonder what the true ages of posters are or their education. Again - I honestly don't want to sound rude & there definitely is no ill intent intended Ero maybe you just don't like his dry wit but that's what I get from alot of posters here that hey don't understand but then dry wit & sarcasm are very british traits. I personally find Froch hilarious, the guy has me in stitiches everytime he talks and in the ring gives 110%; always. I think the guy's great.
Hey no offence taken. I know what you're saying, and I don't think Froch's a bad guy or anything. I hope it doesn't sound like I want the guy to get hurt or anything. The thing is, I think some people are better at trash talking than others. For me, guys like Ricardo Mayorga, Floyd Mayweather can do it nicely, though Mayorga takes it a little too far sometimes. Froch is kind of repetetive. Another thing that turns me off him is his constant references to Calzaghe. I know he's claimed in the past that it's only toungue in cheek etc but I think he still can't let go.
"Arm pit, I mean snake pit" Hillarious. At least he can sound funny. When Joe tried to be funny it was just cringe-inducing.
If he wins this tournament you'd have to consider putting him higher than Joe, who I can't imagine taking a risk like this tournament.
