Former world amateur champion Frankie Gavin is to face Wolverhampton journeyman Steve Saville in his fourth professional fight. Light-welterweight Gavin, 24, is part of Frank Warren's stable and is due to fight next in Liverpool on October 30. Gavin is unbeaten since turning pro last October after failing to make the lightweight limit for the 2008 Olympics. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/more-...ton-journeyman-steve-saville-115875-21734319/
Not a bad fight this. Better than one of those Churchill dog impersonating Georgians, well..... Gavin fighting his mother would be better than that, TBH.
very good step up to be hoenst. intresting that Gavin is doing 6 rounder and DeGale and Saunsers are still on 4s
Saville was robbed vs Hamidi. I have idea how Hamidi can look himself in the face after that win, a complete joke. Anyway Saville vs Gavin is a good test.
Saville's no journeyman. Very interesting this one, bit of a Brum/Black Country derby. The recent Al Hamidi loss was controversial - basically Saville got cut due to a headclash (I didn't see it well enough to say it was a butt but a lot of people I know have) forcing Saville to go defensive (which he's no good at) and lose on points
