Let me get this straight bernie, you had Barrera winning all 3 fights & you thought Barrera did better in fight 2 than in fight 1 ? Mesmerising :-(
True, no wonder they come up with these lunatic asylum type scorecards, their attention span last all of about 8 seconds.... pretty useless for judging a 3 minute round.
I thought they both did better in fight 1, imho it's one of the greatest fights of all time, and yes, it was a closer fight than the second one.
I think it was thee greatest fight ever & I agree that it was super close & hard to score, no losers IMHO. Ps. Glad you`ve seen sense about that 2nd fight, a clear Morales win, well done :thumbsup
I know how to score a fight, Marco outlanded Morales in round 11, and Lampley went on record to disagree with Lederman when he gave that round to Morales. Let's be honest. Anyone having this fight for Marco by 1 round isn't guilty of turning over a bull**** card - they are guilty of scoring a very close competitive fight in favor of Marco, despite the obvious favoritism for Morales that goes on in the General Forum. Morales barely landed anything clean all fight, and neither did Barrera. I watched the fight with the commentary on, but that actually worked for Morales. Lederman had Morales winning, and so did Merchant I believe.
Not really because the gave Barrera some rds that should have gone to Morales, hence the `closer than I had it` Morales victory. Also, Addie.... Morales landed plenty of clean punches to both body & head, thats why it was his fight & night (or should have been until, well, you know).... they both missed plenty too, mainly because at times they were both counter-punching each other. Ps. you NEED to watch contraversial fights with 0 sound, it really makes a big difference... Ive did it with numerous fights, SRL-MMH, EM-MAB trilogy, Pac-JMM II, DLH-SSM II & a few others, you really see the fight in a clearer light. :good
I just watched round 11 with no sound and scored it marginally for Barrera. Barrera landed with some good jabs early on, kept hitting to the body when Morales was at a distance, and was the aggresor throughout the whole round. Morales landed 2 fairly solid shots, but other than that, was backing up.
Not a lot of contact from either fighter but the standout punch came from Morales when he side-stepped MAB in the corner & landed a straight right hand to the face, clean as you like. That alone was probably enough to win a round were neither landed anything really clean.
As long as you acknowledge that it could have been scored for Barrera. :good Close rounds and close fights usually end up being close on the cards, Bill.
Here's my card: Round 1-Barrera 10-9 Round 2-Barrera 10-9 Round 3-Morales 10-9 Round 4-Morales 10-9 Round 5-Barrera 10-9 Round 6-Barrera 10-9 Round 7-Morales 10-9 Round 8-Morales 10-9 Round 9-Barrera 10-9 Round 10-Morales 10-9 Round 11-Morales 10-9 Round 12-Barrera 10-9 Total 114-114 draw.
:nono Re-watch that rd mate then you have a 115-113 card for El Terrible. Ps. you have the EXACT same card as me from rds 6-12 :good
I disagree, I don't see how anyone could've scored the first fight for Morales. Yes it was close, but it was of the close-but-clear variety IMO, Barrera definitely edged it.
Round was very close.First minute and a half can't say much landed much of anything. Then they exchanged with both guys landing nobody having th upper hand. Morales made that mistake with the 10 second tap and absorbed a few shots beefore coming back and getting hit again. I maintain my scoring.
I don't remember my exact scores but I thought Morales won the first 2 and Barrera won the thrid. The only fight out of the 3 that I thought was so clear that it couldn't go either way was #3. Morales got started too late in that fight. if he just had a little more time he would have won.
I've seen all three fights a blue million times, and the judges had them correct except for the first one. Thread closed !!!
