7 weeks and no opponent named...inauspicious portent for the hoped-for return on December 13th.

Of course, the pesky financial matter was just settled out of court (finally - and all of David's earnings from here on out will belong to him - and of course the lovely Robina ) so I'll give it another week. After that it's going to be tough for them to scramble a meaningful and manageable card together....Wilson-Hoppa rematch notwithstanding.

 

Looks like the talk of him fighting in december ws like I thought,a bluff.

 

Expect an announcement about a fight this weekend, for December 12th. A PPV type guy. I'm guessing Sam Peter. The court case closure is HUGE. Tua was too emotional to speak. Will be on Maori TV (NZ) tonite. This court case has weighed heavily on his mind. Almost broke up his family, but he and Robina have perservered, according to Robina.

Tua and Robina have been together for a long time. They have two boys, about 9 and 14 years old. They married 4-5 years ago. Robina is his manager, but takes a low key role. Kushner is his promoter, and does what Tua tells him to do.

 

Well it's been 24 hours, did Tua make his TV appearance? Any clips?

 

I would be surprised if Tua didn't squeeze in another bout before the year is over; he seems very sharp and committed.

Very surprised they ruled out a fight with Meehan.

 

That was just an aside of sheer speculation, though.

Only thing that seems to be certain about December is that it won't be Rahman, or Meehan, or Ahunanya. :think

There wont be any danger in these opponents, but this will get rid of the MaoriTV deal, and you can bet your bottom dollar he'll be looking for big fights after these ones!
