Solis was scheduled to fight Johnson next, so after Johnson gets decapitated by VK then Solis can volunteer for the same destiny...

Hey, Arreola is 6'4" and 250 lbs he's called overweight, what do you call Solis then who is just 6'1" and 270 lbs? Butterbean?

Until Spring 2010 when VK fights next, Solis can improve his weight a bit more and come in at 280 lbs or like... 6" smaller and 30 lbs heavier then VK now this would be a laugh...

I hope Monte knocks him out spectacularily, he's never going to be a world beater but he always comes in in shape and gives a good effort. Monte was able to take out big tye feilds quickly and hopefully he can do the same here.

I mean the guy is barely 6'1", 270 lbs- .....he's literally obese. really check the BMI!

smh, just another case of a highly touted Cuban amateur losing his focus in Miami. smh

    Pics?

He usually weighs in with several golden necklaces. Everyone needs to see what a cool gangsta he is.

Maybe the gold weighs 50 lbs this time?

Ah, I forgot: Go Monte! :bbb

Solis actually moved from heavy to superheavy after the 2004 Olympics (when he was relatively young), so I guess he weighed in at about 225 pounds or more back then. When amateurs turn pro, they always put on a few pounds, so with being in shape, a solid 235 would be acceptable for a 29 year-old Solis, not the lightest possible, but about right.

When Odlanier turned pro at a staggering 258, we hoped it's just the "side-effect" of the dangerous and long trip from Cuba to Germany. Instead, it's more likely that the weight problems started back in Cuba and it never really stopped being a problem.

His lowest at the pros was 247, still more than 10 pounds north of a healthy and effective weight, but now weighing in for his biggest test at 271 tells something about his attitude and personal issues. He doesn't or simply can't take his professional career seriously, and that's a huge loss for (HW) boxing. He's most likely the most talented big guy out there with the very dedicated Klitschkos and the similarly lazy Juan Carlos Gomez. Look at the difference in their results!

He is the real deal and is going to blast Monte out in 1 or 2 rounds. Btw why is he not fighting Kingpin? I bet the other guy got scared.

271 is morbidly obese at 6'1. The guy is mesomorphic but that's a lot of weight to carry especially if your doing any consistent cardio work. hope monte fights a smart fight for once. you'd have to think that the later it goes the more tired solis will get. barrett should dance a bit and not go for broke early
