Margo wouldn't have been more respected than Judah, Margo was a nodody back then. Zab's career has been much better than Margo's. Zab is a two weight title holder and linear in one. Give me Zab's career over Margo's anyday.

You are correct, Floyd retired and gave up the status as the Champion at Welter, Margarito and Cotto fought and at the time the winner Margarito became #1 welter not the Champion, but #1 Now Mosley beat Margarito and he is the #1 Welter out there.
Not Cotto, Not Pacquiao, Not even Floyd.
There is no welter weight Champion right now, but there is a #1 welter weight out there who is viewed as the champion right now Mosley is the only welter you can make a case for, in being the Champion.....

 

Zab won against Spinks who was the linear champ at 147 he didn't fail and he did it with speculation of cheating. At 140 he held a title as well. Margo went up to 154 got beat by Santos got the WBO belt at 147 and never had a win of note for years until Cintron then Cotto who IMO he cheated against. Zab's resume is better than Margo's and he has had the better career. The cheating accusations tarnish Margo's legacy no matter how you look at it.

His win over Spinks is bigger than Marg's win over Cintron, that win can compare with Margarito's win over Cotto. Judah won the undisputed title in that fight and Spinks was coming off a win over Mayorga who was coming off two wins over Forrest( may he rest in peace) who was coming off two wins over Mosley who was coming off a win over DLH and so on.

Did Cintron have ANY decent name in his record before fighting Margarito?. That fight was the first real major/big fight for both Cintron and Margarito.

To say that PBF got scared to fight anyone after Castillo is silly. Directly after fighting Castillo for the 2ND TIME. PBF fought 2 back to back knock out specialist in Victorian Sosa and Phillip N'dou.

Sosa had 32 fights 26 knockouts record of 32-2-2
N'dou had 32 fights 30 knockouts record of 31-1
