What the others said, this is his first catchweight fight. Also, Miguel's best weight is 147, Pacs best weight is probably 140 (even though he's fought at 147, it's probably not ideal for him). Therefore it's only fair that they meet in the middle which would be 143.5. Yet this fight is taking place at 145, dropping two pounds should not be a big deal for Cotto. Pac on the other hand has had one fight at 147 and one fight at 140. If anything, it's Pac that's out of his comfort zone.

I just hope Pac gets the credit he deserves if he wins the fight, people need to give the guy a break. You could say the same for Cotto, why can't he drop down to 140 and fight pac in his weight division instead of asking him to blow up? Remember, only last year he fought at super featherweight. Especially since Miguel's legacy has less to gain from this fight than pacs. If Miguel wins he'll still have fought a smaller man and won't get as much credit as pacman will if he wins.

Anyway, I like both fighters but I'm a ******* all the way. I think we'll get a great action packed fight.

Because they are less skilled and are forced to fight being able to take punches, and since there are so many Mexicans ( a lot more than Puertoricans) odds are that of all the millions that fall short some are actually good enough to compete in the elite level taking punches and crying of the opponents running when they get outboxed. :good

There's no need to end any hype because there's none. Pac is that good. If he loses it's not gonna end any kind of "hype". He's done enough already.

yeah, whatever happens in this fight, as far as I'm concerned, Pac's legacy is secure and he'll always be rememembered as a "great". He's already beaten Barrera, Morales, Marquez, De la Hoya, Hatton. Just imagine having conquered those fighters. Sure you can nitpick any of these wins but you can do that with any other fighter.

i dont think he will blow away cotto but your comparison holds no weight. the fighter that fought jmm is not the same fighter who fought hatton. more weight, more power, better technique, more experience, etc...

I agree with one exception.....I dont think cotto will let manny knock him out......He is too good of a fighter for that . but pac is very fast handed, and I think he will be hitting cotto with a lot of punches he dont see coming.

true. also you could say that jmm at 130 is much a better rounded fighter than hatton at 140.
