Gil Clancy- good at teaching the fundamentals, getting a fighter in condition and stressing the importance of pacing, as shown in his handling of Emile Griffith and others. And he seemed like a nice person too.

Futch I consider primarily a master of ring strategy and shaping a fighter in a style that would suit his specific strength. As a man he was pure class!

Together they would make a great team in the gym.

For actual cornerwork Angelo and Whitey Bimstein might hold an edge with their great motivational and psychological ability

Any combination of these four would be super!

If only two, Georgie Benton and Nacho Beristain.

I would like to study Benton's overall philosophy, and see what adjustment's Beristain would have to offer.

It's hard to say because so much of the trainer's work is done behind the scenes...any of the guys put forth so far would be great.

Eddie Futch would be a great choice. He was so cool and calm in the corner, never panicked or got flustered. He knew his fighters inside out and cared for his fighters. Some trainers don't protect their fighters enough. I'd want a guy who would know when to call it quits.

Perhaps Charley Goldman would be the other choice. Such a wise, savvy guy. He knew how to get the best out of his fighters. A real old-school trainer.

Honourable mention: Mannie Seamon. His work outside of Louis was very impressive, and sometimes I don't think he gets enough credit for the way he handled the Brown Bomber.
Blackburn rightfully is seen as Louis' mentor and teacher, but Seamon carried on Blackburn's work faultlessly and added some new things as well.

Georgie Benton, Bouie fisher, Bill Miller.

Benton would be my first choice though.
