**** solis. people would kill for the opportunities and talent he has and he's throwing it away. it's disgusting and insulting. he's a ****ing waste and the sooner he leaves this sport, the sooner we can wash his taint from it k, that's harsh but i'm pissed
OK, OK, OK... Why are you people so damm harsh on Solis? I can understand he is overweight but he does'nt look so bad as he actually looks kinda strong but with fat. Instead of just loving a fighter for being in good physical shape ALA Holyfield, Tyson in prime days just wait for today's fight. After Solis manhandles Barrett easily as he surely will, then you can make a good judgement about him. Solis cannot weight 220lbs as he is a naturally big and wide guy, his ideal weight should be around 240lbs or the most 245lbs! He needs to lose at least 25lbs in order for him to really use his full potential in his speed. For now, let's wait for tonight's bout and after Solis wins then we can see just how he looked, if he was fast, if he was tired or not and if he packed a punch. People need to understand that Solis' skills and amateur experience are more than too much for Barrett or any one else and if one day he decides to trim down, watch out! Go Solis! We Cubans support you, but hey you need to lose some fat!!! :good
Rico, all you do is critize the Cuban fighters, why the hate man? Solis is going to win and win by spectacular fashion...
your loyalty is commendable. but still, his physique, like arreola's is reflective of his committment or lack thereof. if he's not willing or able to lose that fat, he isn't taking it seriously. this is BOXING. boxing requires a physique, heart and level of dedication that many other sports do not. you cannot be a lazy, top level fighter. just doesn't happen. baseball player sure, but not a boxer
No clues. What if this whole weight history is only part of an strategy, designed to create a beast, who at the time of encountering the only threats in the division, the Klitschkos, will walk at around 230 lbs, but with the strenght of somebody who could march 12 rounds with 270 lbs. Any way i can only root for my fat ass Odli. I think he is having fun and enjoying the attraction and concern of the fans about his 270 lbs. GO LA SOMBRA! I am just going to enjoy tomorrow the odes about how masterfully he just flattened the good man Barrett, otherwise a nice fellow.
He's still favored to win, and chances are good that he will - and that's EXACTLY our problem. If he can beat Barrett at 271, at 60% of his abilities, he's never going to take boxing seriously, thinking "hey it's enough, show me the way to Burger King". And when he'll meet the Klitschkos (or a top guy in top shape), he's gonna get his ass kicked hard, Arreola way, and maybe it'll be too late to realize what's the difference between a so-so and proper training (a world title or many). But if loses his perfect record tonight, at 60%/271lbs, chances are good that he's gonna rededicate himself and take things seriously. It took 4 knockdowns for Gamboa, maybe Solis needs a loss.
2 days ago not many even remembered that Monty still exists and now he is appreciated by boxing fans and the fight hasn't even happened yet. Popularity, you can never guess where it comes from.
A fighter that comes in short notice and looks in shape already deserves respect. Especially when his opponent is the one that was supposed to be training for this fight.
Well in his case we know exactly where it comes from. I went to Hamburg just to see the 3 Cubans debute. But now, Solis can go and screw himself. I'm close to calling him a disgrace.
Monte maybe isn't so skilled as Solis but he is oldschool. People like that. As Vitaly said once if you want to be a champion you need to be ready to fight with bests 365 days a year 24/7.
solis probably needs the cuban bootcamp/training they have over there to get motivated to be in shape
