Where are all the solis critics now? Solis just demolished barrett like fighting a kindergarten child. I thought that barrett was supposed to beat solis and give him his toughest test...solis has awesome power now weighing 270lbs but i agree that he needs to trim 20lbs. His ring intelligence and skills are unmatched in the hv's. Will you all still critice " fatty " like you were doing before? He demolished barrett way easier than haye. He said that he is not working on his weight at the moment just concentrating on his skills and technique, maybe later on he will trim some pounds!!! Go solis!

Oh by the way, I knew that Solis was going to stop Barrett inside 5 rounds but you all were bashing him since the beginning just for being overweight! Next time, don't judge someone because of his weight, just wait for the outcome...

Maybe Solis is building muscles, that's why he's gaining so much weight.

Still think Gamboa takes Lopez. Penalosa was pounding Juanma's head all nite long. He won't be able to take Gamboa's shots to the head.

He is husky for sure. But, he should lose at least 20 lbs.

Haven't seen the fight but a fat Solis v Tua captures my attention a lot more than an in shape solis. Two boxers too tired to move and slugging away until someone drops.

Good prediction. My next prediction is that he is going to be avoided like a plague.

Well... what can we say, fatboy looked pretty good... so is he going to believe it when somebody will say 'you looked ****, you're not gonna beat the top guys in this shape'.

He won and won well, so credit for that.

He's still way way too heavy. When a fighter lacks mental discipline like that, sooner or later (usually sooner) it catches up with them in a big way.

Overweight Odlanier Solis (271 at the scales) stopped in-shape ring veteran Monte Barrett in 2 rounds yesterday. Solis said about the stoppage: "I saw a 40 second clip of Monte Barrett vs. Haye, and I noticed he'd lead the right hand too far then he'd drop it. So I knew if I worked my left hook, I'd catch him.

Let's see how this worked out:

(Barrett BTW got up from this shot but was stopped about a minute later)

But seriously... Solis looked badly overweigt. I believe that he still has stamina, speed, accuracy and power, but if you knew the Solis of the Olympic games, this is like a caricature of that fighter. To beat the Klitschkos, you need great mobility, quick footwork and very good upper body & head movement, Solis had it all. Now he's just following these B- to D level fighters around, using timing and physical power to rip apart, something would miserably fail vs. the Klitschkos or even vs. a quick mobile boxer like Chambers of the bit slower but well-rounded Povetkin.

The talent is still there. How about putting some serious work behind it, Mr. Solis?

Thanks for GIF. I have to admit that I'm quite impressed: It's a beautiful KO. Well timed and placed.
But I also agree with all the other things mentioned BB. If Solis continues to be fat like this he will soon become a what-could've-been fighter.

Goddamn, if the kid would get in the gym and do the conditioning, he has the potential to be a truly awesome fighter
