After Solis took out Two Guns Barrett in 2 rounds, David Haye's heavyweight record naturally loses a few points. He's got a fight coming up with Valuev so this all might become insignificant in a few weeks, but until then we don't really have a clear indication of how significant his punching power is in the division. Also, Solis-Haye sounds like a good contender fight for a shot at one of the Klitschko's.
By that logic Vlads stock has fallen as he took 7 rounds! I am not taking anything away from Solis, great result on paper but fighters can get old overnight and almost a year since Haye v Barrett so comparison does not mean much. Besides Haye said before he would stop him in 5 so just doing as he said! Unless i'm wrong Haye dropped Barrett 5 times so for an objective non Haye hater this should be evidence of carrying power up.
First of all, I'm a Haye fan. Depends how you look at it. If it took 5 KO's to end the match, the first 4 obviously weren't enough. Wlad isn't a KO artist. He breaks the opponent down slowly. Furthermore, Wlad has several fights at the division to judge him by. With Haye there simply aren't enough rounds to get a clear idea of his position in the HW division. In any case, like I said many of these questions might be answered in a few weeks.
Exactly what I was going to say, Barrets a shell of the fighter he was pre-Haye. Barret now is the Post Calzaghe Lacy .
Wlad beat him 9 years ago when barret was only once beaten which had been a split descision and Wlad dropped him 5 times on the way to the stoppage
Exactly, lodook how mny fighers it their prime at that age, Vitali, Calzaghe was near that, Hopkins prime at 43, RJJ, Mosley... age just means hes a expert in his field.
barrett is a journeyman now if he is not motivated you will not much of a fight and if he is motivated you may get a bit of a fight for a couple of rounds
Barrett was a rated contender when Wlad TKOd him 8 years ago. Barrett was a journeyman when Haye and Solis beat him. :deal
