Matt Korobov. I'd seen him in the amateurs, but the first time I saw him as a professional was on the Hatton v Pac card and I was absolutely amazed at the performance he put on against a solid journeyman. He displayed everything.

I no longer allow myself to hype up any fighter in the prospect level. Until they've proven themselves at least somewhat I can't take them seriously. Korobov looks good, though.:D

The first year of Gamboa was like nothing boxing had seen in a long long time. And being so little known for the public, it was probably the first time that we, the internet hardcore community (with the help of YT and other tools) made someone a star. I believe Yuri holds the record of a non-American to get an HBO main even in the shortest time (10 fights). Obviously, Gamboa showed some negative stuff in his 2nd year, but you could feel something speacial is being made right in front of your eyes, just watching his first few knockouts.

Did anyone catch Korobov's outclassing of Danny Jacobs in the ams? It's on Youtube. He makes Jacobs look outright sluggish.

I like Rigondeaux a lot but saying I'm amazed by him is much said.

i dont like to jump on bandwagons too fast. most young prospects make their name fast because they are exciting to watch and finish the job early.

nothing wrong with that but all fighters look good when they are on the offensive and at the top end most guys have solid chins.

its natural guys like valero and gamboa, for example, get people's attentions fast but the next couple of years will probably show their vulnerabilities more than we've seen before.

    Dmitry Pirog.

I saw his 2nd fight on Russian TV. He already looked like a seasoned pro. The guy just knows what to do in the ring every second of the fight. He beat Tatevosyan in his 4th fight. Pirog beat Kofi Jantuah in his last, 14th fight.

Amazed by Gamboa.I am not amazed about.Juan Ma and Linares, Korobov and Lara. But Gamboa seems to have the speed hard to deal with dat kind of speed. He'll only get better with experience that's only his 16th pro fight.

Rigondeaux has my attention, although like Sweet Pea, I'm not inclined to annoint any fighter as the truth until such time as they establish themselves against proven competition.

I disagree. His flaws already seem more glaring. He doesn't have the fleetness of foot that Korobov does. A fighter that is able to close the distance quickly would put him on the defensive too much for him to get any kind of rhythm going, and he's all about building up his rhythm.
