If that happens and he avenges his loss to Glen Johnson, I'd put him up from about #21 to around #14. If he beats Dawson, then probably top #12. It would be incredible at this stage for him to beat both the P4P #4/5 and a top, world-class undefeated top 15 P4P at least fighter.

I'm about the only person who believes Dawson stylistically is a very easy fight for Roy Jones Jr and one that he should have tried to take asap. But, lets say this is the sequence he goes down (possible in my eyes) 1. Beats Green easily 2. Beats Hopkins again 3. Beats Dawson for the LHW title 4. Beats the winner of the SMW Super 6. 5. Announces his retirement fight to be against true Cruiserweight champ (possibly Adamek) and wins. Does that avenge the Johnson/Tarver/Calzaghe losses?
Considering literally no ****ing one knows anything about 168 in the post-Jones, pre-Lacy era, Boxrec is a better source than "I didn't hear about that guy, he must suck" Guys like Starie, Woodhall, Mrketchian, Veit and Brewer represent solid competition, guys that I would put on the level of the Andrade/Bika/Froch level. Lacy, Reid, Mitchell and Sheika - a level just above that, as guys who were champs or very close to it (in Sheika's case) - with Reid and Mitchell both arguably having wins over Ottke. Then you've got Kessler, hard to define at this point - would be in amongst the Reid/Mitchell calibre but has the potential to forge a very good career at SMW and LHW for himself. Then you've got Hopkins - P4P athlete, best of his division and an ATG and Eubank - P4P athlete, one of the best at SMW ever and a HOFer. Jones Jr? Hard to judge where he was at in that fight, the Hopkins fight will be a better judge than any fight since - could potentially become another good solid win for Calzaghe. Not even taking guys like Bika, McIntyre, Brewer, Ashira or Salem into account. Joe didn't have the name recognition on his resume that Oscar De La Hoya has, for instance - but he also doesn't have the losses on his career. In his biggest challenges, he dominated the fight - Lacy, Eubank, Kessler, Jones Jr, Reid and Mitchell. The only close close fight he had was against Hopkins, where he won on Hopkins home soil with American judges in a fight that 85% of the American press had him ahead in. Yes, lets consider Calzaghe a bum because he doesn't have more American names in his resume.

no worries dude, i'm one of roy jones most dedicated and vocal supporters on here. i don't pick his resume apart, you can do that with anyone. roy jones' resume, for whatever reason, is not on par with his talent. i've gone to great lengths defending it for what it is: COMPLETE domination against the best that would actually fight him he's just missing some of those key wins. keep in mind: i've repeatedly said he's in my top 10 all time
You asked who he could have fought. Those names were some that many thought he should have fought. And spare me with your timeline. He had time to fight the Richard Frazier's, Otis Grant's and Bryant Brannon's, he could have found time to make a riskier fight. I don't however see what this has to do with me questioning some posters boxrec ability concerning Gene Tunney. One clown mentioned he fought 60 bums. What I was curious about were who were these so called bums and what do many of you actually know about them outside of their records on boxrec?
