Great post, couldn't have summed it up any better than this.

Typing out that stuff about Hopkins, taking away any and all credit for his accomplishments, then turning around and telling others THEY are displaying irrational hatred is irony at it's best. I also love the fact that Big Reg and several others pointed out just how stupid it was to compare Floyd fighting Marquez and wanting people to pay $50 for it on PPV and calling it a superfight when we all knew it was a tune-up was somehow the same thing as Hopkins coming right out and calling this fight a tune-up, Versus putting it on FREE TV and charging reasonable ticket prices.

Even the attempt at passing them off as equal makes you appear to be mentally challenged in a major and severe way.

Why can't B-hop get a tune up ... Roy Jones is ... and they are signed to fight each other some time in the first quarter of next year ... I'm not hating on him ... and I have nothing against Floyd either ... the biggest difference between the two is that Floyd fought an accomplished fighter and the guy that B-Hop is fighting has never won or fought for a world title. B-hop has been off since he beat Pavlik ... its okay for him to take a tune up fight before a huge fight between he and Jones.

Maybe because Hopkins isn't trying to get a million people to pay $60 a pop to watch a mismatch. As far as I know, Hopkins is practically doing the fight for free and doesn't even have TV rights at this point (although I suspect they'll work it out so that it's simulcasted onto the Jones-Green undercard).

This might be the last horrah for B-Hop who's going to cash out against Jones ... this will be a huge PPV fight between the two and the drama will only add to PPV buys. This outside of the DLH fight will be the biggest grossing fight of B-Hops career. The same goes for Jones who produced 500k against Tito (awesome) and this fight will produce more the 500K buys ... making it a complete success.

I'm sorry buddy but if you compare the two Floyd is on the same level of B-Hop as far as title defenses ... Floyd has reigned as a world champion for 10 consecutive years, and has had 20 title fights without a loss so i don't know why you bring that **** up.

Because anyone that says that about Hopkins is an idiot.

    Hopkins' last FOUR fights:

    Antonio Tarver
    Winky Wright
    Joe Calzaghe
    Kelly Pavlik

Hopkins was the underdog going in all those fights.

Let's not kid ourselves, if Hopkins could get 15 mil and a million ppvs at 60 bucka a pop for a so called tuneup , he'd do it in a heartbeat.

The problem is, unlike Mayweather, he can't.

I'm a huge fan of Hopkins, I don't discredit his wins over De La Hoya and Trinidad because of their size, and I don't discredit him for his age, I think at 44, he is still more than capable of kicking anyones ass that isn't named Joe Calzaghe at 160-175.

I'm making the point that the blind hatred towards Floyd and the things people say about Floyd are absolute ****ing bonk**** when compared against other fighters in the division.

People hold Floyd to a higher standard, why? Because whether or not they want to admit it, they know they're witnessing an ATG.

Who gives a **** what the fighters ages are?

    Floyd has 40 professional fights.
    B-Hop has 56 professional fights.

They're not poles apart in experience, definitely not when you take title fights and the fact that Floyd has changed his weight division so many times where Hopkins only did it at the end of his career.

Floyd is 32, an age where many boxers are done and dusted - remember Erik Morales for a recent fighter who fits the bill?

The difference between Floyd taking on P4P #2, 135lb fighter as a tune up, vs B-Hop taking on an absolute nobody 168lb fighter as a tune up is what needs to be discussed.

If B-Hop wants to consider himself an elite boxer and someone capable of passing judgement on Floyd, so be it, let judgement be passed back.

Why did no one give Mosley **** for Mayorga?
Why did no one give Cotto **** for Jennings?
Why did no one give Pac **** for Diaz?

Oh yeah, that's right - cause you mother ****ers know that Floyd = #1 and whether or not you want to admit it, you hold him to a higher standard solely due to that fact.
