    It's very clear the Hopkins fight with Ornelas is announced as a TUNE UP fight...

    While that Floyd-JMM joke tuneup mismatch fight was announced and wrongly promoted as a "superfight" or "megafight" hence the criticisms...

    And judging by 1 million PPV buys, it was seen as a super fight by the bulk of rational people, too. Funny that, that the P4P #1 facing the P4P #2 does that sort of business.

    Hopkins hasn't claimed to be the greatest MW of all time? LOL.
    **** me guys, Hopkins used to make outlandish statements all the time, especially after beating Trinidad and Oscar (both much smaller than he)

    Again, double standards.

    1 million people bought the hype... $20 million was spent for the promotions alone and it should make some considerable return...

    Floyd-JMM is a joke tuneup mismatched fight to me (btw, i didn't buy it), then what's your post-fight assessment of that fight??

    The same as my pre-fight assessment, there is no one currently boxing between 135-147 that poses an obvious threat to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

    The closest person to the weight class that does is Paul Williams owing to extreme height, stamina and reach advantages however he is about to fight for the MW title, which goes to show you something.

    Assessing Floyd's performance post fight means taking into account how easily he beat a very talented boxer by boxing - not by being the bigger man, not by landing the bigger shots - but simply by boxing.

    People say that the weight effected JMM because he landed a shot that didn't phase Floyd - Floyd has a great chin, he got absolutely cold cocked by Chop Chop and still managed to recover without being knocked down.

    The only knock down other than taking a knee he's had was when Zab caught him with a tight inside hook and knocked him off balance, size didn't matter there.

    Two boxers got together, two counter punchers got together and Floyd was 1000% better at the craft than JMM, what people seemingly forget is how good JMM is.

    If you don't have that supreme confidence in your talent, don't ****ing box. Floyd can justifiably look at himself and believe he can beat anyone between 130-147 in history, he's entitled to that level of confidence, you don't have to like it, but considering a win against JMM to be trash while saying "It's OK for Hopkins to face Ornelas" is laughable.

    Hopkins facing Ornelas would be like Floyd facing Demetrius Hopkins.

    His record at 147:
    Mitchell
    Judah
    Baldomir
    Hatton
    Marquez

    Wow, I know his record at 130 and 135 is right up there, but when you claim to be the greatest you should at least TRY to be one. At welterweight Cotto's and Mosley's records are heads and shoulders above Floyd's it's actually shameful to try and compare them.

    Why don't you say straight up that it's a mismatched fight?? A 4 to 1 mismatch fight...

    You also didn't mentioned that Floyd is so much faster than JMM and Floyd has a 5" reach advantage over JMM that's a big factor in the fight...

    JMM can't make a dent on Floyd coz Floyd is so much heavier (irresponsible/unprofessional Floyd didn't make weight) and so much bigger...

    I have expressed distaste for Ornelas as a Hopkins tune-up. Complete, unnecessary mismatch. At least Jones is fighting someone with a ghost of a chance in Green.
