neither floyd mayweather nor manny pacquaio have accomplished much at welterweight. in theory, those victories shouldn't do much for him on the ATG welterweight lists. most dont even rank mayweather at welterweight.

Mayweather was the linear welterweight champion so a mayweather win would do something form him or anybody who beats him.

I wouldn't give Cotto that much credit at all if he beats Pacquiao. If Cotto can beat Mosley and Judah, and hang in there all the way with Margarito, what is so impressive about him beating Pacquiao, who is quite a bit smaller than all of those aforementioned guys? A Pacquiao win would be much, much, much more impressive because in this fight, Pacquiao is David, and Cotto is Goliath.

Now, if Cotto beat Mayweather, I would be impressed, probably equally as impressed as I'd be if Mayweather beat Cotto. Beating Mayweather would definitely qualify Cotto as one of the all-time great weterweights...top ten definitely.

I misread that as if pac beat cotto and mayweather. I said top twenty in that case. It would be good for cotto but too soon to rate him. If he retired right after, I wouldn't rate him highly at all on an all time sense.

exactly right, neither of those two are ATG welterweights, but they are ATG's, Cotto would be a legit top 20 ATG Welter if he beat those two, then where would we put Margocheater??????????? Top 10??????????????:patsch

Maybe Top 20 if he blows both of them out, which is very unlikely.

    top 50 wtf?

He would have beaten, Josh Clottey, Mosley, Pacquiao, Quintana, Mayweather and Zab Judah at welter ??? I can't see 40 other welterweights having a better resume than that!
