Wilfredo Gomez beat the living day lights out of Juan Meza. I just watched this fight and damn! Gomez was a littler terrier in there going down stairs with hook after hook and bringing them over the top again & again. Juan Meza had never been stopped but the referee had to step in here. Meza was a former world Super Bantamweight champion to.

    One word...........relentless.:deal

Gomez came back well from his loss to Sanchez and gave Meza a beating.

Meza actually went onto win the title after the beating in one of the best one round fights you'll ever see:

    That was a brutal KO!

Ironic that the wide punching Meza was the one to turn the left hook over faster and shorter

Garza had some of the most frightening power in the history of boxing, P4P.

Gomez was just unreal...his ko of Zarate impressed the hell out of me and still does...he could do it all.

He also showed a hell of a lot of heart in losing to Sanchez. Despite losing, he impressed me with his grit.

i was really high on jaime garza when he was a champion. i remember when he won his title in los angeles against filipino bobby berna. berna, the light hitting southpaw knocked down garza in the first but garza came back in the second to KO berna. one thing's for sure, garza had raw punching power.

Garza in all likelihood had more raw power than Gomez. Up with almost anyone ever really. Unfortunately he had his flaws too.

The great Gomez was a real beast of a fighter. I will never forget him stopping one of the best African fighters in the late 70/early 80'S Eddie Ndukwu who was on his way to a WBC title until he met the great Gomez who destroyed him. It will take agruably the greatest from our continent the Legendary Azumah Nelson to defeat Gomez. Great FIGHTER Gomez and great man also. Probably the finest ever bantamweight.

Ive seen Gomez vs Eddie Ndukwu, Gomez made him look like a bum, just goes to show how much talent Gomez had.

Gomez looked a formidable fighter at 122, Barrera is one of my favourite fighters but i know for a fact he would have his hands full with Gomez. One thin that i noticed about Gomez though, he used to get wide with his punches and square up when he got into exchanges.

I think Gomez was unbeatable at 122.

That's exactly what I think...Wilfredo Gomez was UNBEATABLE at 122, but like so many great fighters, he let up a bit after the Zarate fight..incrementally, and then more after Meza..it was all coming so easy for him, he well on a decline before he stepped in the ring with Sanchez.
