I see Roach being the cause for Pac vs Floyd not happening, he'll obviously ask for a smaller ring size and probably 142 catchweight. Though if Pac does beat Cotto, i don't see why the fight cant take place at WW.
Your post was good as well. Well Manny can't out think Floyd. I don't think anyone in the game right now out thinks Floyd. He's to smart, and if a fighter is trying to think with him, that just gives Floyd more time to set you up. He's to clever and gifted. But I don't think the weapon that Floyd is likely to catch Manny with is a check hook. Manny doesn't come right at you with his chin exposed like that moron Hatton. Manny moves his head and protects himself a little better even though he's wild at times. Pac is not a defensive genius, but he's not gonna walk into a check hook and I'm pretty sure he'd be on the look out for that move. As far as leads to the body, that's where I think Manny needs to keep Floyd busy. Play speed chess. But also I take into heavy consideration is Floyd's ability to adjust. I think if Floyd is strickly trying to play counter puncher, that might be Pac's best chance but if Floyd is using his jab that would keep Manny controlled and would allow Floyd to go to work with leads. Manny doesn't have to get inside but if he can't atleast get close then it would be Floyd's fight.
This is flawed in so many ways. 1. There were not 1000 responses to the poll. Your study population was 1000, that being members of this forum. Your sample size, the actual respondents, was even smaller. 2. Selection bias - any study where the participants select themselves for inclusion is flawed since people with strong feelings about a subject are more likely to participate than those without. If you put out a commercial asking people to send in vote as to whether or not they hate Pie people who naturally hate pie will be more likely to respond than those that haven't got strong opinions about pie. This means that pie hate will, in general, be over-represented, proportionally. For instance, I didn't respond to the poll when I saw it because I thought it was stupid (still do) and didn't really care, despite the fact that I bought the fight. 3. Unrepresentative sample - Members of a boxing enthusiast forum are not representative of casual boxing fans or casual sports fans who bought this fight based on word of mouth or advertising. It's like going on a car enthusiast forum and asked what kind of car most members own. You would get the impression that sports cars are the most popular car in the world when in fact it's probably the ford focus or something. Without a REPRESENTATIVE sample the data means basically nothing.
The study was conducted here and those were the results, and there are tons of Mayweather fans here that could have and did partcipate in that poll... The study asked a series of questions age, ethnic background, location etc... all those who want to make the claim that Floyd sold the PPV event, had their opportunity to take part in that study, the numbers are there and do not lie, they match up to the people who partcipated in the study..... Sure its just one forum your right about that, but this forum also has alot of members to get an idea of who bought the PPV and who actually was the draw. Had Floyd been the reason it did that many PPV buys, the Latinos would not have been so dominant in that study....
Yo Dynamite Kid....I mad RESPECT your Boxing Knowledge...Well Said. But about Pacquio being a threat....Here is where I disagree. Both Corley and Judah are indeed Southpaws. However, They are what I call: "ATHLETIC TECHNICAL PUNCHERS! They throw really fast SHARP AND CRISP Punches. Pacpuio throws these WILD LOOPING Punches that Floyd will see coming A MILE AWAY!!!! Floyd indeed has fought really fast Southpaws....QUESTION???? Tell Me, Has Pacquio FOUGHT ANYTHING CLOSE TO RESEMBLING FLOYD MAYWEATHER????? HE HAS SPEED, ACCURACY, TIMING, SKILL, DEFENSE AND MOST IMPORTANTLY....DISCIPLINE!!! Floyd is not just going to run straight at Pacquio ala Hatton. I have been saying, since the First Words and Thoughts were heard from Boxing Critics, Gurus & and Boxing Forum Posters about a possible fight between Pacman vs Mayweather: "MANNY PACQUIO WILL BE FLOYD"S EASIEST FIGHT!!!!!!"
Has Floyd fought anybody anything close to a Manny Pacquiao with speed Power and a high work rate? :think
WOW!!! Yo Dynamite Kid...Again Your Boxing Knowledge is PHAT!!! But your knowledge of the Culture within the Caribbean (especially en la Isla Del Encanto) is way off!!! Puerto Ricans are is Mixture of Taino Indian, Spaniard y Africano. In Fact the City of Loiza, Puerto Rico has a VERY LARGE African/Black Population. As well as areas like Santruce, Caguas, Ponce and City named Florida, Puerto Rico and few other places along the Costal Areas of Puerto Rico. As well as La Republica Dominicana, Cuba (La Habana y Santiago), Venezuela, Panama, Honduras, Colombia (Especially in a city named Baranqilla, Colombia) And Costa Rica (Especially in a City Called Limon, Costa Rica). And All of these Black Latinos in these regions of the world Identify with being BLACK LATINOS. In Costa Rica they are called Tico Negritos, in Cuba there are called AfroCubanos, in Colombia there are called Palenqueros o Morenos, in Puerto Rico some (but not all) are called AfroBoricua...But they ALL Identify with being BLACK LATINOS!! I am Well Traveled...Studied in Colombia, Military in Puerto Rico (Vieques) First Wife was Boricua (de Mayaguez) and now married to a Costrricense de San Jose, Costa Rica....And I ALWAYS MADE AN ATTEMPT TO LEARN ABOUT THE BLACK PEOPLE of every place I visit!!!!! Maybe you should do the same!!!!
His best punch, the straight left which he can throw in different ways, is anything but a wild, looping punch.
He fought Zab who had a jab, faster hands and more power for one shot. Workrate will be irrelevant. Manny's normal workrate will be cut by half against PBF.:deal With that said I wish Manny would just go wild and throw punches in bunches it would absolute worst thing Manny could do.
Again I think your assesment of the volume punching by manny pac is off a tad bit, he places shots, ask both DLH and Hatton.... those were not wild shots.... Zab IMO is not faster, and he doesnt IMO have bigger power.....
That's where we disagree again. Zab throws a faster more accurate and more powerful one shot than Pac does. He's more explosive with one punch. Pac does throw better combos though and is a better finisher.
Well since we know he throws better combos and is a better finisher, it will be harder work for Floyd than the fight he had with Judah..... Again tell me whats the biggest win on Zabs resume... I know it hurts to admit that its spinks, but its the truth, and guess what? he had to lose to spinks to get a win from him.... Sorry but to me you cant say that Judah is a more complete fighter, and saying Manny Pacquiao throws wild shots is just insane, he has learned how to place his shots alot better in recent fights, ever since the 2nd and 3rd Morales fights....
You act as if Spinks is trash or something? The guy is two division champ undisputed in one. I never said Zab was a more complete fighter than Pac we all know he isn't. But just because both are southpaws with fast hands and good pop don't mean they fight the exact same way. Zab's style is a harder matchup for PBF than Pac is he's more cautious and calculating. Zab has longer arms which for some reason you don't seem to think this is important. Zab has a jab and is a more of a counter-puncher. Zab is more patient looking for openings and can exploit openings IMO better than Pac will because it's his more natural counter-punching style. His jab was also a problem and unlike Pac he has one. Pac is more aggressive than Zab and has shorter arms and no jab. The lack of a jab is a huge mark on Pac in this match up you must have a jab against PBF to keep him honest disrupt his timimg so that he just can't sit bak and pick you apart. Pac's aggressive style is just what a counter-puncher like PBF loves. If you watch PBF-Zab in the first few rounds Zab wasn't all out aggressive he was looking to counter and pick his shots and was effective early on. Pac IMO isn't wired that way he will be cautious at first but soon do the only thing he knows how to do go to war which will be a mistake.
