What a great fight, and from what I saw there is more evidence to believe Margo didnt use plaster then there was that he did. So throw this the plaster didnt hardend until the 2nd half of the fight when Margo took over bull away, when Cotto was clearly showing signs already of being affected by Margo's punches in the first 6 rounds.

    Plaster doenst
    1. Take the shots Margo took to the chin with ease
    2. Prevent your opponent from blocking uppercuts
    3. Give you more stamina
    4. Have your opponent fight the wrong gameplan

Margo should still be banned and crucified for attempting to cheat against Mosley but no one can take anything away from this great fight.

I am not saying he indeed cheated against Cotto. Fact is, no one knows but Margo and his trainer. But I tell you that it would give you extreme confidence knowing that you have an advantage hidden in your gloves.
He has always had a good chin, but coupled with plaster? Thats a hard obstacle to overcome. And the plaster is still effective early on, just more effective later in the fight. Who knows?

There was no plaster in that fight everybody with two cents of sanity knows this....
I tend to not look at the 2nd half as proof, because by the time they would have applied that in teh dressing room, and by the time they got into the ring, they would have had the time to rock form themselves up...

Now knowing this, and knowing it takes about 45 mins for Plaster Paris to seal, look at the early body work that Margarito was getting done, and look how hard he was throwing those shots, ribs would have been busted, it would have had almost instant swelling rather than it taking rounds to swell like that....

There was absolutly Zero Plaster Paris in that fight~ anybody who thinks other wise is simply just stating thoughts due to what he was caught doing with Mosley, but those thoughts are not facts, Nevada is the hardest state to pull that kind of **** off in...

They provide the gauze and tape to the corners and there is a commissioner in each dressing room monitoring the fighter the entire time.....

The plaster calls into question the loss, in my view when you're convicted of cheating in a sport, you should have all of your successes removed - i.e in Margarito's case, all of his wins should have turned to NC's.

But, I don't really feel he used Plaster in that fight. I think Cotto isn't as powerful as people like to think he is, Margarito ate the shots and kept coming, eventually wore Cotto down and finished him off.

Mosley hits ****ing hard, that's the other thing people don't realise - I think if Mosley stopped caring so much about being the nice guy and the boxer and just went in there with the intentions he had against Mayorga and Margarito, his career would be even better than it is now - he could have KO'ed Cotto.

Cotto took some vicious body shots during that fight, but I thought the scores at the time of the stoppage were ridiculous ... I had Cotto having a comfortable lead going into the championship rounds.

I can tell you this, Cotto would've won that fight had he threw more right hands ... swollowed his pride and clinch when he got close ...

Cotto is very good as a fighter, don't forget he beat Shane Mosley relatively convincingly and was pasting Margarito around the ring early in their fight.

But he doesn't have the lions will to grit through the bad spots and demand victory.

Cotto lost that fight because he didn't fight a smart fight ... he didn't lose because of plaster in wraps ... that wasn't proven and as of now its just speculation ... if it boosts cotto's confidence-thats really all that matters.

But it does cause more damage, busts up your face a lot more. Now understand I'm not flaming, but there is no doubt in my mind that he plastered his wraps. When they said "The wraps have been used before," that was what first caught my attention, and then the pictures of the confiscated gauze showed up.... well I go back to the margo fight and watch as he puts his hand up.... it had the same stain.

Is my opinion biased? Not at all, I gave Margo full credit for that fight (until the allegations of course.)

He didn't, most people just don't want to admit it though. Margarito is not the scum that people believe he is.
