I read a few weeks after the margo vs mosley fight that capetillo told a news paper that cottos punches take more from margo than they thought... and thats why mosley knock him out...

Very Possible, Cotto was landing bombs, but you cannot take away that Mosley hits harder than Cotto

I used to say the same thing,But Mosley prove me wrong ...its evident he hits way harder then Cotto,Margarito was walking right threw Cottos bombs, but he sure couldent walk threw Mosely bombs...Mosley proved his power was underrated

Cotto was starting to wear Margarito down but you can tell after about the 8th round that Cotto started to lose some of the sting off his punches ... and Cotto stopped throwing right hands ... but I can tell you guys this ... Margarito was looking a bit weary when towards the end of the fight, but his endurance is top notch.

Cotto's power at 147 is overrated, imho. Margarito, Clottey, even Judah till he was low-blowed to death, didn't seem all that fazed by Cotto's bombs.

I think Mosley has more power, BUT Cotto definitely works that body a lot harder. Unlike your head, there is just only so many times you can get your body hit.

If his power is overrated, I would pay to see if you can take one flush punch from him on the chin with 16oz gloves ... hell i'll take up a collection ... I know I can atleast get 5k ...

as to whether cotto or mosely hit harder...

when you watch the cotto/margo fight and then watch the ssm/margo fight, you can see why cotto's punches didnt have the same effect. margo was coming forward and cotto was backing up to the ropes and then (quite brilliantly i might add) throwing as he moved out.

ssm and naz saw this and executed a perfect gameplan against margo. instead of letting margo walk him back, ssm came in and threw and then tied up. when you are walking at your guy and throwing, you have a natural momentum and more pop on your shots than if you were throwing backing up, throwing in a corner, or while you are sliding out of the corner.

its not that cotto doesnt hit as hard as ssm and that's why ssm knocked margo out while cotto couldnt...its that shane was landing while he was walking forward (on his way to tie up) while cotto was usually fighting his way out of a corner and didnt have the same pop on his shots as he would have had he fought like ssm did.

Not that night, but you can bet in the long run it took something off him. You have to look at Margs last 5-6 fights, there was sooo many big punchers he faced and ate clean blows from.

Cintron 2x trading bombs with a devastating puncher at welter

Williams ate shots all night for 12

Clottey he had a rough first half against the tough African

Cotto no need to expand everyone recalls the classic war

Mosley big fast banger with plenty to send him over the edge

Marg was a true welter champ and had faced the who's who of welters.

Clottey: hit off balance 1st round, not even hurt, not even remotely.
Judah: a 140lb fighter, low-blowed repeatedly into submission.
Margarito: walked through Cotto's 'bombs' like they were Paulie Malignaggi's. That was laughable.
Who at 147 has Cotto KO'd with his amazing power? Answer: No One. Oh, wait, I'm sorry, Micheal Jennings and Alphonso Gomez. ****ing Idiots.

Nah I don't think so. Didn't Margo survived and punished Cotto to submission in the later rounds? That's not an indication that he was hurt. :deal

Capetillo? **** Capetillo . . . that's just an excuse for Margo being KOed by Mosley. :yep
