For the record, the NSAC had nothing to do with it.....

.....it was in California where Richardson caught the shady knucklepads......In California, the commision allows for the fighter to wrap with whatever gauze and tape they happen to bring in......the fighter brings his own tape and gauze.....


......Margarito-Cotto was fought in Las Vegas.....a commision where it is required that their inspectors hand over official NSAC tape and Gauze for the fighters to wrap.......

......thus its very unlikely that Margartio's wraps were illegal for the Cotto fight.....the NSAC explained this...."an inspector walked in, handed the Margarito camp the tape and gauze, and the inspector was there all the way through where he signed the wrapped hands and put the gloves on.

I have no idea. I think it either comes from hatred for Margarito or blind support for Cotto. I've never been fond of the guy at all, but given the facts, it's totally unfair to try and completely discount his entire career before the Mosley fight.

 

Why would this even be an issue? Unbeaten? Are you ****ing kidding me? Cotto isn't undefeated! Margarito beat his ass down! I'm so sick of these discussions of Margarito's hand wraps. Some people act as if he undoubtedly had plaster in his wraps that night. IT WASN'T PROVEN!!!!! Against Mosley, he wasn't even found with plaster, they just found plaster on the floor of his locker room, I believe. Cotto hit Margarito over and over, and couldn't stop him. Marg walked through everything Cotto threw. THAT'S how he won! Not because of some ****ing plaster!

You're right. I was wrong. Mosly's trainer found a white substance in Marg's warps, and he was forced to re-wrap his hands, but in any case, that doesn't mean he wore plaster against Cotto. The point I'm trying to make is, he beat Cotto because he was able to take his punches like spitballs. Had Marg not stood up to the shots the way he did, he would have got knocked out, illegal wraps (if you choose to believe that) and all.
