from reading some of these threads, you guys dont know much about cotto... ill try and point out a few things...

Cotto fought in the olympics for Puerto Rico. Yes, Cotto is not just a brawler, hes an amazing BOXER himself who uses feints which alot of fighters these days dont do.

Cotto is naturally left handed. For those of you who say that when he switches to southpaw, hes doing himself harm, youre very much wrong. He whooped Quintana (southpaw, who later went on to win a title by beating Paul Williams and was undefeated when facing Cotto) ass when he switched to south paw, with the power still in both hands.

Cotto was seen, by many, as Mayweathers biggest problem at 140. Thats back when Tzuyu was fighting Hatton and ****. Cotto had already beaten a few fighters more decisively than Mayweather or Hatton and was considered oen of the best 140lb fighters. Beat PAULIE MALIGNAGGI (who later went on to win a title and was undefeated before facing Cotto)

Cotto has only been down once and that was at 140 where, not to make excuses, but it was pretty well known that Cotto was draining himself to make that weight.

and please, remember the resume at 147. idc if they were close or not, if he got the W he got the W.

Mosley (not much to say, the man is a HOF. came in blasting Cotto with his hardest shots and Cotto didnt flinch.)

Clottey (had Margarito beat until his hand broke. Cut Cotto early and yet Cotto still fought through and got the win)

Zab Judah (the only man to knock Mayweather down. former UNDISPUTED Welterweight champion of the world.)

Quintana (undefeated before he fought cotto. Cotto moved up in weight to fight him, many though he would out box Cotto as he did another rising star in Joel Julio. Cotto knocked him out)

Those are just to name a few...

please, have your opinions on the fight but in the end just ADMIT its a toss em up fight. Anyone can win. They are both just as good as eachother and thank both of them for agreeing to fight eachother for the benefit of us. stop trying to belittle Cotto. He is a great great fighter.

I don't have problem with your post.

Indeed it's a toss up fight. I haven't made my final pick yet.

It's a joke when posters get on here and start talking about him winning vacated titles but fail to recognize that he has fought MUCH bigger opponents in this weight class and has won!
Finally, someone with a well articulated and point-by-point assessment of a man who has fought EVERYONE in WELTER there is to fight with only ONE Questionable loss on his record! :good

I think that stylistically, he just presents big problems for Pacquiao. Too big, strong, and too good. I'm not saying this because Cotto is the guy on my Avatar, I had picked Margarito to beat him which he did. Pacquiao's wins have come from strength and speed. Against the smaller guys, he's always eaten leather but has been able to dish a lot more out and the other guys usually aren't able to take it. Against the bigger guys, he's just been too quick. The guys that Cotto had most problems with were guys that were big and strong: Margarito and Ricardo Torres; in both affairs it was a matter of who can take mas than the other guy. This won't be the case... The only thing Pacquio has over Cotto is speed, and although speed is a big factor in a fight, I think Miguel is good enough and is a more natural fighter to overcome speed and beat the smaller guy in Pacquiao and it will show, mark my words.

cotto on points, people will expect to see a war, but instead we are going to get a boxing match.....pacquiao could also win on points...I expect a close decision either way....but my hunch is cotto on points.....manny's activity will present the biggest problem for cotto...

I still have not decided on the winner. This is tough to pick. Oddly, I picked Pacquiao over ODLH and Hatton as soon as the fights were mentioned. I am more uncertain about this one. I can see scenarios of it going either way.
