Nathan Cleverly doesnt impress me

some sort of amateur star?? 3 ABA titles, Commonwealth gold, European silver, Sidney Olympian, seven or eight multi nation tournament golds think that qualifies as one of our best amateur stars for a long time and will take some beating

 

Every time I see this thread I start singing Shania Twain.


Cleverly better be good though. I keep telling my mates he is and I will look a complete twat if he bums out.

Now I have seen him close up, I think he can be a decent prospect, he has a lot to correct, stance, defence need work, he's got good finishing instincts and fitness seems ok, all he had at Enzo's gym was good sparring, so far everything he's learned has been self tought or things picked up in gyms, at the moment his dad tells me he is his chief sparring partner. Courtney could'nt get going the other night, the lack of competition over the years has eroded his skills, everything else was right, fitness, sparring etc, sadly it was'nt there on the night, he's had 6 rounds in prizefighter this year to Nathans 6 fights and it showed and apparently it's my fault

thats what I was told on the monday in the gym, not everyone was singing from the same sheet as they say,I'm sure you can work out the rest
