on paper it's certainly Pac, but PBF deserves a lot more credit for the DLH fight than he gets. But seeing as how Cotto is on Pac's list, the combo of him and a prime (at his natural weight JMM) puts Pac ahead of PBF, because besides the DLH fight, the rest of PBF's opponents were garbage compared to JMM and Cotto (and I'm saying JMM is not good at WW not that he's not a great fighter).

Pac. Especially considering he is considerably smaller than PBF, yet fought 3 of his same opponents.

DLH had all the advantages over Mayweather, also coming from good results. He was weight drained etc vs Pac.

Hatton was undefeated when he fought Mayweather coming from good results. After Floyd he was struggling vs Lazcano...

    So its pretty even imo.

you missed out the other fights.

Not to mention Hatton/May was at 147...and Pac had to move up alot of weight to fight DLH

Well 3 of the opponents are common ones, although they fought 'em under different circumstances but that works both ways. So that really only leaves Baldo/Judah vs Diaz/Cotto. I'd say that gives a slight edge to Pac, but the point that i think this thread is trying to make is well taken. Pac has been getting way more credit in the last few years for fighting a similar level of opposition as Mayweather.

But i guess being humble and respectful and then fighting in a thrilling, balls-to-the-wall style instead of being disrespectful, continuously contradicting yourself, pounding your chest and proclaiming how superior you are and then fighting in a cautious one-punch-at-a-time style will do that for you.

I am going to slightly side with Floyd here. Floyd fought a fully fit DLH whilst Pac fought a weight drained ghost, Pac fought Hatton at his natural weight however Floyd laid the blue print and fought him whilst he was undefeated and had the mentality that he couldn't be beat, Judah is a better fighter than Diaz, Pac fought a better version of JMM but it could be said that JMM won both of those fights.

The thread is about how good there last 5 recent opposition has been, Pac has yet to face Cotto yet though?

    not really, just my opinion.

    -PBF beat an undefeated Hatton
-PBF destroyed JMM, allbeit at welterweight- while Pac IMO lost both fights with JMM
-Pac beat a weight drained Oscar
-PBF beat a champ in Baldo
-David Diaz was always overrated IMO

the only thing that would tilt the balance to Pac's side is Cotto, and I can't really count Cotto being the fight isn't in a month. I've counted an older Barrera who had been through like 70 wars. so IMO PBF had the better resume in that span. "opinions are like...(you can finish it)"

Why does it matter if some think JMM won both fights? It's not really relevant to the question.

And blueprint for Hatton? You really think Pac followed some kind of blueprint? He just steamrolled him, he didn't follow any blueprints.

Pac beat Hatton on his best weight class were he he had vever lost and he did it in two rounds.

last time i checked Pac has a draw and a win against JMM in a weight class where JMM was great, and since when did fraud destroyed JMM?

Pac was moving up in weight against Oscar and won every round against a guy that everybody tought would destroy him.

Fraud beat Baldo the worst welterweight champ in the history of the division.

And now Pac is going to fight a top welter something fraud is scared of.
