if you've even fought you'll appreciate the mental side of boxing.

its very, very naaive of you to say that both fighters were on the same level just because they were at simliar stages of their career age-wise.

EDIT : jones oozed confidence - overconfidence - when he was in his prime, and for good reason. getting sparked and having to adapt regularly made him a mere mortal.

Jones was confident for the 2nd Tarver fight. and the 'showcase' comeback fight vs Johnson.

    Again; more lies.

its a good thing "the money was there" for hatton then, isnt it?

or did you think that was divine intervention?

    i'm talking about prime jones.....

if you keep talking like a baby and dont comeback with your own opinion theres no point....you choose.

you wont hear me say "more lies" or "you talk idiocy" like the other guy.

be confident in what you say and dont take it personal.

    i won't, i promise you ;)

Despite being 37 Calzaghe was at the peak of his prime maybe sliding downward a little. RJJ slid off the cliff and was heading for rock bottom.

    damn right. so would i.

but my point is that it was calzaghe and warren's conscious philosophy to boxing prevented this happening.

how hard would it have been for calzaghe to mow through the LHW contenders at that time?

and yet hatton can do more work to earn his spot against floyd and pacman and people STILL won't accept that joe had his career in his own hands - even though joe is the better fighter.

    damn guys - think!

No..Calzaghe wasnt at his peak when he fought rjj!

The Calzaghe that fought eubank/reid/veit with very little hand injuries was in his prime.

you think the joe that fought eubank was in his prime?

that was a defining fight for him..not a prime one.

Ok i retract that statement! After actually reading it.

He was very green when he fought eubank but id suggest he had a lot more power in his punches than he did when he was 37!

Ive seen most of his fights e.g Mitchell,Woodhall,Veit , but im not a huge fan.
However those that claim he was in his prime at the age of 37 clearly havent seen many of his earlier fights e.g before Lacy!
