I don't know about you guys, but I've been impressed as **** with Tarver doin' his job commentation work. He really speaks well, clearly, quick with good thoughts, and uses humor as it should be when necessary.

Props to Antonio, hope he keeps it up. IMO, I'd imagine the work in the Balboa movie couldn't have hurt with how comfortable Tarver appears to be on camera.

Kudos to Showtime for bringin' in Tarver.:good:good

    What you guys think?

I agree, like him a lot. He speaks quickly and concisely and has an obvious love of the sport.

It just brings to mind, though, that it makes no sense to me that HBO still has Lennox out there.

I suspect someone does not want to admit their mistake, but come on. As Tarver shows there are many fighters out there who can do a better job.

Nothing against Lewis, a great champ, some people just aren't meant for the job.

Tarver has done well on the few telecasts he's been on so far.

He did a good job but i don't know it's kind of annoying when he can't speak right with "he hit him with a, with a straight, straight right, right hand." "H got talent, but, but i think he needs to lown excuse me learn his mistakes." <<<<<<<thats not all what he said but it's something like that. Lewis does this as well but he's from england so i can understand. Maybe Tarver is way too nervous. He needs to relax more when he speaks.

I thought he did a great job at the Kessler/Pedermo fight.

What I liked best about his work was he actually stuck to calling the action in the fight and didn't try to shove commentary and give boxing lessons like that lameass Atlas.

Very good, I like him. He's a little boring sometimes but I think he's great.

Honestly, I really enjoy Lennox. I know he sometimes jumbles up words and ****, but he does a good job in all in all. PLUS, in the Ring Mag from last month (with Cotto on the cover) there was a great interview of Lennox in there, and he talked a good bit about his commentator job at HBO. He said for a good while he was really nervous, not sure what to do..when to do it, what exactly was his role, etc..

but now he's learned a lot in the time he's been doin' it, and one has to admit he's doin' a lot better and I expect him to improve further as he goes on.:good

Well, there is ONLY ONE Roy Jones Jr. That's for sure. But I'm kind of proud for Antonio and how well he's been doin' already on camera and on the mic.:yep

I love HBO, but they get Tarver who is really good, and we're stuck with Lewis, steward, and goofball kellerman! it isn't fair!!!!!!!!!!! atleast I have Jim and Larry. I remember the good old days of Jim , Larry, and big george! I loved those days!

Obviously, I agree big Pimp (hence the thread), but do you like him to where you hope they keep him on for a long time? Or just thought he did alright and could care less if they got somebody else in there of equal quality?

IMO, he's gonna be great in the Super Six aspect, cause after all these 6 dudes are generally his size and fighting in and around a weight he's been comfy at (Tarv was LHW of course, but just one division up).

****, I guess I'm just sayin' congrats to Antonio for landin' the "Gig" and hope they continue to use him. I enjoy the show with his commentations.:good
