PBF doesn't come in with a plan. He just adapts to his opponent. Cotto's fight plan, on the other hand, should revolve around the jab.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2mTi4gWkWY[/ame] I think he kills Cotto with lead rights down the middle like Quintana was killing him with until Cotto wore him down and knocked him out. When Cotto comes with his hooks as shown in the video PBF already has answer for those things. There is no style that I believe Cotto could turn to that will not be answered by PBF. I think Cotto is a real good and smart boxer though, so It will be interesting to see what he will try to think up while facing PBF.
We'll see after the PAC fight. If Cotto neutralizes Pac's speed intelligently, he should be able to do the same to PBF. MC should keep constant pressure accompanied with speed and not let PBF potshot all night. PBF on the other hand should dart in and out, and follow it up with occasional combinations.
I think that Cotto will end is ties with Arum should he win vs Pac and that will almost ensure a fight with Floyd. I think that backing of Margo by Arum was the last straw for Cotto. Cotto wins I think that his next fight will be vs floyd.
One has nothing to do with the other. The styles are nothing alike. Pac jumps in throws a quick 1-2 and either rolls or jumps back out. Cotto just has to use his jab to control Pac, which is the reason that he had so much trouble with JMM. Pac is more like Shane Mosley then he is Floyd in terms of the way he uses his speed, and we saw that cotto did a good job vs Shane. Pressure is what Floyd wants the fighter to do. He wants you to walk to him and throw shots that is what give him the chances to counter. Draw them in wait then pop pop pop walks to the side and makes the fighter reset. The styles of Pac and floyd arent even comparable.
