I was eating and scoring this fight on a shitty download but this is what I came up with tentatively. Many of the rounds I scored for one man could have gone to the other, more so in the early going before Mtagwa showed who the alpha male was in there. Lopez Lopez Lopez Mtagwa Lopez (no KD scored it was BS) Lopez Mtagwa Mtagwa Mtagwa Mtagwa Mtagwa Mtagwa (two point round) other things: Mtagwa made a point to hit at the buzzer in three different rounds....Lopez got rocked pointed as if he was hit low and then intentionally hit low back but I didn't see any Mtagwa low blow however the video of the fight I had was not the best....last round clear 10 - 8 round for Mtagwa......KD earlier total bull****....the third announcer with the showtime guys was horribly biased for lopez and it was silly to hear him praise lopez's "movement" as his ass was getting knocked all over the ring... Both guys have a lot of heart and toughness to hang in there however Mtagwa's reputation grew from this fight and JuanMa's aura of invincibility has been forever crushed. Mtagwa was the clear winner on an emotional level and also I believe when scored properly. Many of the early rounds were close enough you could consider giving them to Mtagwa, as well as a few of the later rounds for JuanMa.
Did you start this thread to show esb how horrible you are in scoring fights? if you did, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!:thumbsup
Haven't actually tabulated them...as I said in another thread I was there live and too overwhelmed to pay strict attention to such trivial matters at the time. It seemed to me that the rounds were about evenly split. And as a judge (even an armchair one) you HAVE to score any KD legally ruled by the ref...you don't have to like it, but he's the designated authority. Even giving Mtagwa a 10-8 twelfth (which I agree with) it should have been a razor thin win for Lopez or maybe a draw. Tiger definitely won the last few rounds, but to say JuanMa didn't win a single frame in the last half of the fight? That doesn't seem to jive with my recollection. He may have gotten buzzed in some of those rounds but still won them.
It was a bull**** knockdown. Since you haven't sat down and scored it, do that and get back to me before you laugh at my score, especially considering you see it as possibly a draw, which would only be two points different then me, once you take away the BS knockdown point which I choose to do because it was BS, improper, wrong, phantom, didn't happen whatever you want to call it. Unfair. This is a thread about the way it should be scored, not the way we have to score it, hell, the way we have to score it has already been decided by the refs. Sit down and watch the rounds like me and get back to me. edit: and since you see it as a draw possibly with the bs kd then you can see it as a mtagwa win without it
7-5 for Juanma with a KD is the most I could give Mtagwa. 10-8 round for each. Best fight I've seen this year I think. Juanma won, and will be better from this experience. He didn't quit or get stopped like a lot of up-and-coming fighters would have, and have this year!
well i see no point in scoring a BS knockdown when you are scoring a fight the way YOU want it to be scored based on what you saw. we have the benefit of slow motion the kd was nonsense how did you score round seven for lopez?
